Rear Admiral view of Ha'apax/BattleCloak/Singularity Overcharge

Hey everyone I just hit rear admiral and wanted to give my views and opinions of these three items.

Ha'apax - I really loved the concept art for this ship but was worried when I finally saw the textured ship in the store. But after flying a few missions with it I'm totally in love with this ship. The design feels very much like a large owl hunting its prey swooping into the fray and then flying off into the night. Also cryptic has done a great job on the weapon points for this ship as it feels natural that the weapons would and could shoot from those locations.

Suggestions: My only feedback is that I hope we get a slightly altered costume added to the C-store version so we have a little bit of customization.

Personal rating: A

Battle Cloak 40s timer - So I now have 5 boffs with Romulan Operative and 1 for myself taking that trait giving me 6 x 10% reduction to my battle cloak. This trait currently has a diminishing returns for anyone that does not know. Currently with the maximum amount of Romulan Operative stacking it will adjust your cool down from 40s to 25s vs the non diminishing returns of 18s. Personally I'm 75% ok with this as what I get from the singularity core is very handy. But Romulan ships do depend on battle cloak for the help in turn rating and no captain at high end will waste more than one slot on a RCS console vs the much needed other consoles. In the end I feel it is a must to have the Romulan Operative trait on all of your boffs and including yourself.

Suggestions: I personally was hoping if I have the maximum amount of Romulan Operative traits that the cool down would be at 20s. But on the other hand I will take what we have over another major nerf as singularity powers do add a very good level of strategy to the game.

Personal rating: "A" for having battle cloak on some extremely slow turning ships and a "C" for Romulans being a hard system to balance.

Singularity Overcharge - info text of the power
"Energy Weapons: Singularity Overcharge requires you to be cloaked to activate and upgrades your energy weapons for a short time to cause additional damage. Beam weapons will fire powerful Overcharge blasts of energy while Cannons will unleash a flurry of rapid shots. Activation this power will deactivate your Cloak, drain all of your Singularity Levels and the duration of this will increase with Singularity Level. This Singularity Power may be used while Cloaked, but will drop your Cloak upon activation."

Notes: Level 5 lasts for 12s, lvl 4 10.5s, lvl 3 9s, lvl 2 7.5s, lvl 1 6s
-You also may activated it while not cloaked as a correction to the above text.
-When this power is active your tactical energy weapon powers like fire at will and rapid fire go offline.

The visuals on this power is very impressive but the damage is not as strong as the visuals or the above text might suggest. The overcharge beam blasts were like mini beam overloads maybe doing 2x or 3x normal beam damage if we are lucky as there is not damage modifier info in the description. The "Cannons will unleash a flurry of rapid shots" has a better visual than rapid fire. To be honest I will need to go through my data logs on damage to get the correct damage numbers as it even has a chance to be only a 20% boost.

Suggestion: Display the damage modifier in the info screen and correct the text stating "requires you to be cloaked to activate".

Rating: "A" for visuals a "B" for missing the damage modifier data and description.

I've got a Ha'apax as well.

And sometimes I do find that I need to plan ahead.

That energy wave that you can release I find really usefull against those leech drones and mines (of all sorts) some of the smaller fighters don't seem to take it to well on the higher levels as well.

It's the stern that has me concerned though. One torpedo launcher and 3 turrets is what you can put on it, but the turrets feel a little light. Fortunately though the combination of cannon rapid fire and torp spread 2 seldom leaves the outcome of said issue in doubt.

How can you get these ships on Tribble? Did you somehow get a token for an RA ship?

I've leveled up, but can't buy one. So, how did you acquire it? Token? Dilithium? Zen?

I got the Ha'Apax on the Tribble server and while I love the design, I feels its lacking in turning ability not to mention is Engineering oriented hence why when I get to Sub-Admiral this time I'm going to get the Ha'Feh as its smaller and Tactical oriented, since I mainly use Escorts in STO as I prefer to dominate my enemies with speed and accuracy over being a Tank.

Though speaking of Escorts and this is off subject so I apologise, I find the fact STO has the Prometheus listed as an Escort and not a Cruiser which is is in Star Trek, surprising.

Though I can understand why they did it since the Prometheus class is for all intensive purposes geared towards combat.

But getting back to the main point about the Ha'Apax, I do love the design as it has a very natural look to it like as was mentioned in the first post, an Owl.

Though it is supposed to have a separation ability though those that have it will have to confirm this as it didn't have it on the Tribble server.
