Not really. Just make the free ones the 9 console versions.

if these were new factions, especially in the dominion sense, I'd think there would be entirely new ships, the ones in lockbox are only 4 ships out of the entire alliance, Cardassian-Galor (1), Jem'hadar Attack Ship (2) Jem'hadar Heavy Escort Carrier (3) Jem'Hadar Dreadnought Carrier (4), average ship setup per faction roughly 18 for basic level ships, not including skins, and C-Store ships.

so of total the 18 ships, the four listed above could be the way they are, but not offered to the factions, but instead, newer more time appropriate ships could be in their place.

makes perfect sense, when they release there faction, if you want a T5 ship you either get it for Lobi or from the exchange or possibly a re run of lock boxes lol, and if you want to fly an escort pony up 600million EC first lol

I understand that some players are very eager to have their favorite faction(s) added to the game. However, until and unless Cryptic adds some sort of reason to have differing factions beyond pointless PvP and an excuse to add more lockbox ships, I can't support the idea of more factions (even Romulan).

With the miniscule effort put forth (skins/uniforms/ships ALREADY IN GAME) in bringing forth a new *snicker* "faction", I fail to see the motives for delaying Cardassians or Dominion any longer.

All they need to do is write a few measly "prequel" missions, then fold them into the FED or KDF, harping about how this a good thing all the while. "The Dominion was beaten and scattered!" "The Founders are powerless now!" "The Cardassians want peace! You can't use the True Way!"

Makes you glad the game wasn't released after "Undiscovered country". Otherwise, we'd have neutered Klingons because "The Klingon Empire is no more, they've asked the Federation for support."

They can't do a 3rd faction so don't expect to ever see a dominion faction. Slim chance of a 0.5 cardassian 'faction' but I dread to think what state that will be in. Personally have no faith in them doing them any justice as of now.

The Dominion should end up getting a spotlight and added to the game as a proper enemy since they have the biggest expansion potential you can get. The addition of the Dominion effectively allows the Gamma Quadrant and whole new zones to be added which incidentally includes established Hurq / Iconian backdrop as well.

Not to mention being able to bring in Jeffery Combs as a VA for Vorta - Blah blah, just clone him again. Star Trek has handwaved away far bigger fish than this.

As for making them a faction - Doubt it but your basically stuck with two character creation choices and none of them would be a founder.

It is far more likely to follow the route of the Romulans.

You don't need to had wave anything, his cloning facilities in the aloha quadeant are gone, not the ones in the gamma quadrant.

Anyways the whole micro faction is a gross exgaration. The Romulans remain an indepant faction, there just allowed to make an alliance with another faction.

They have everything else exceptca Romulan starbase which honestly will probably come with time.

The only thing I might like more than Romulans are Cardassians. Their uniforms are awesome, and it would be cool to captain a Keldon.

I would love to see either a Cardassin and/or Dominion playable faction in-game, but considering how badly the Romulans have been treated, I can't say I am looking forward to that day. Judgign by the direction things are going, we'd probably get soem revolutionary group of Jem'Hadar Freedom fighters building themselves a fledgling republic. In their hour of greatest vulnurability, they decide to send ships, soldiers and technology to the federation and KDF, help build their starbases, and die gloriously in battle agaisnt each other. For their part, FEds/KDF get access to a Tosk-tagging minigame on the enw jem'Hadar Homeworld which they can trade in for state-of-the art Dominion technology
