We will see you in-game, Captain!

I have been a paying sub since a few weeks before launch. Never went life. At the time I was new to this mmo thing. In fact this and my sons Dcuniverse is the only mmo we have. Never thought I would drop sub! Even when it went F2p we still had vet rewards. That "gold watch" or uniform, belt, whatever! It set us paid people apart. It showed everyone that "hey we are the payers! We are the sub people! You can't have this new shirt or badge unless you are a sub. But now that's gone. Cryptic does not seem to think subs are worth anything. Not worth the time to create a new comm badge or belt every 100 days. I don't see a reason to stay subbed? New faction?? Yea I may of stayed sub for that if the faction cost money to non sub. Like it has in Dcuniverse. But it's all free! Alien toon? Yea that's a perk! But not a $70 perk. What are I saying?? Do I want this game paid?? No! But I do want this game to stay alive and make money. It's almost like this game don't want sub at all! So i am now free.. That $$$ I save and the dill I collect will handle anything in cstore that could pop up.

Confirming this thread is merely a whine about not continuing to be rewarded every 100 days after the first 1000 for paying for a service that could've been cancelled and the money saved.

The post 1000 day whine bandwagon left ages ago. They were laughed off the forum for being pitifully self-entitled, as you will be.

There are a number of other perks to subscription you aren't mentioning. such as increased ec cap, monthly zen stipend, priority login, access to veteran rewards, and a few others that are much more important than some stupid useless in-game toy like a watch or combadge.

Different people benefit from different plans.

That was kind of the point to F2P.

He did mention those when he quoted the e-mail about his sub ending. And his complaint is specifically pointed at the vet rewards, which he already has the full complement of, which is why he stopped subbing.

Imagine how us true 1000 day veterans feel, we supported this game in it's infancy and what did we get? took them three years to get us our own ship and they insult us by providing only another escort. We got this useless place that we can't even transwarp to. We don't get extra resources for rep or for fleets. We don't have any way of getting the new currency (fleet marks) for being lifers. And Now to add insult to injury everyone and their mother can get a lifetime and instantly become a 1000 day veteran. sigh.

(not to mention many of us payed significant sums to this game post our original purchase as ships became available)
MMO's of 2014 where normal gameplay is considered an exploit and the eastern billing model is celebrated by apologists. smh

for those die-hards that have been paying every month for 3 years, I can understand how you folks feel.

BUT

how many of you guys are actually left? whatever that number may be, the fact is, that number almost HAS to be shrinking month by month.

Lifetime subscribers, on the other hand? That number continues to grow, especially after they added all those veteran perks to the LTS. Heck, after 6 months of steady play in this game, I bought one, not long after they added those perks. And without that offer to sweeten the deal, I probably wouldn't have bothered.

The reason I wouldn't have bought an LTS is the same reason Cryptic doesn't feel that adding more vet rewards beyond a thousand days makes much sense: if someone were to start paying for a sub today, it would be THREE YEARS before they ever got that perk.

I'm sure Cryptic is thankful for your business and loyalty, but if the worst thing their decision to end the vet rewards after 1000 days does to you is force your hand to (cryptic hopes) redirect your game monies into more efficient purchases in the Z-store so what you DO spend gets you more/better stuff, then that ain't all bad, right?

What place is that? You can't be referring to The Captain's Table. That was a Lifetime Sub reward, that they later turned into a vet reward, much to the anger of the Lifers on the forums.
