Once at the top of it's game, the Gal-X has since been relegated to less hospitable reservations of ESD. Like the now endangered snow leopard, it's majestic sheen when reflecting sunlight off it's hull has led to it's near extinction by faceless company infractions and PVP poachers, hoping to make their money on the black market selling salvaged 3rd nacelles.

A cautious creature, it's classic form of hunting to sneak up to weakened targets from a cloak then phaser lance it into submission have now more often then not been avoided by overuse of warp plasma and thata, polluting, the land for up to 10km across and leaving this once noble creature left to flee home for another day.

LOL very good, Mr David REGULUS Attenborough, however there is a new and recently improved Dread out there, it's taking a huge toll of the Klinks patroling Kerrat, watch our for the USS Sir Lance A Lot. I was fortunate enough to catch a glimpse of this rare beast making a kill only yesterday, and on the toughest of opponents, a Bug ship flown by that able Captain REDACTED from the House of Beautiful Orions. Our sensors received this information:

[Combat USS Sir Lance A Lot)] Your Phaser Spinal Lance deals 33462 (44429) Phaser Damage(Critical) to REDACTED

This frightening weapon then went on to do the same damage again but by then the bug was swatted.

Hard to spot, especially if you are a Klingon, this mighty starship will be seen protecting the weak and unsuspecting Fed noobs in Kerrat, swooping in on the firework toting Raptor that is decimating the poor noob's hull, in a flash he has them, locked by a tractor beam and a crippling graviton pulse, then he fires all weapons and with almost 100,000 dps at his disposal the captain of this fine ship has saved the noob. Does he receive a thank you? No, not a bit of it, so he promptly switches sides and kills the noob.

Gotta love kerrat

if they do anything to the dread, they need to fix all that crap they tacked on to it so its not off center, don't know how anyone can stand using it, beings so glaringly bad

To be honest Matt, the only time i saw your ship, it was on the Klingon side of Kerrat, cloaked. I was faction switching too as the Feds were outnumbering the klinks, so maybe when you're on the right side and not pretending to be a bop, we'll find out.

It's all very frustrating...
This is not Star Trek but Escort Trek...or even worse fed escort Trek...
At least having an improved Raptor can alleviate the suffering...damn...I bought that ship and it served me so well last year (I mean 2011), of course mainly in PvE, but now she is completely outdated for pugging!
fixed it for you

Anyone can make such a claim from thier side of the fence on how green the nieghbors grass is over thier own.

The feds have way better Escorts over the KDf and thats fine really because we have better Battle Cruisers on average to compensate it seems.

While the Dreadnought may need some love its not the core of teh fed Cruiser choices and you do have some that are very well suited for combat to choose to use instead.

I liked the idea of a set for the Dreadnought that buffed it when used and left it somewhat in its current state when not.

For your stats and based on the fact that we are talking about a battle cruiser, fleet variant the stats should be closer to these:
Hull: 41K
Shield mod.: 1.1
Lt.Com. Tac
Lt. Tac.
Com. En.
En. Eng.
Un. Lt.
Bonus power: 10 to weapons and 10 to Eng.
Turn rate: 8
For the console layout: 4 Eng, 2 Sci and 4 tac.

Cloak should remain as it is, or the equivalent of a Klingon Battlecruiser cloak. (Meaning in order to engage again the cloak you should be out of Red Alert)

As for the Lance raise the acc, lower the cooldown, but also lower the damage.

With my Klingon Eng char I fly a Tor'Kaht and I have to say that it is pretty good with a DHC layout(2xRCS purples)
Making it a Tor'Kaht BOff layout basically would solve the issue for the Dreadnought as being too Tac light for a fed BC.

Though I would love to see a new fleet KDF ship with these BOffs;

Hull: appropiate to class
Shield mod.: 1.1
Lt.Com. Tac
Lt. Tac.
Com. Eng.
Un. Ens.
Un. Lt.
Bonus power: 10 to weapons and 10 to Eng.
Turn rate: 9-10 for a BC variant or 14-15 for a Raptor variant
For the console layout: 3 Eng, 2 Sci and 5 tac.
Weapons 5 fore/ 3 aft

Pretending to be a BoP? Well yes ok, but at my age I don't have the reflexes to fly my bug any more, and yes it is like a BoP with long CDs which gives me plenty of time to chat, fetch coffee, empty potty, fetch slippers etc. Big difference from a BoP though is after de-cloaking and lancing someone it can stay in the fight. You could do the same with the Defiant, the lance would be the BO3 with a preloaded BO2 in reserve but I love my Dread and popping evul klinks in bugs with a widely regarded mediocre ship is akin to Derby County wining the FA Cup LOL.

As for faction swapping I do this if the feds outnumber the klinks or if there are a bunch of fed noobs spawncamping the klinks, pisses me off because a) it's not fair or honourable but mostly b) gives me nothing to hunt down and ambush
