edit: VD loses his cool and complains about the upcoming HY/TS changes being packaged in with the BO changes.

This change won't effect torp boats all that much.

It will not allow us to HY 3 - HY 2 .... or any combo of the above instantly no.

Still don't see this being a big deal.... IF you are firing pretty close to constantly this will have ZERO effect on your build.

So your engaaged and load and Fire a HY 3... 5s cool down who cares 15s global anyway till you can load and fire your Spread pattern.

This only effects prebuffing.
When the messenger comes to appropriate your profits ... kill the messenger.

so can you prebuff with HY2 and TS2? and fire at same time or close to ?
Now found frequenting MWO short term and then Star Citizen long term. Raged Quit PVP long ago

My understanding is he is changing it so that no you will not be able to....

I think anyway.

Which also means you shouldn't be able to run Overload 3 + Target SHield 3 instant like either.

Prebuffing is...burst.

And, well - blipping every second to fire torps off one at a time (as opposed to 8x beams or 4x DHCs & 3-4x Turrets firing at the same time)...defeats the purpose of being able to fire while cloaked.

Perhaps if I could synchronize four torps to fire at the same time...but I can't - so it's been a reliance on that prebuffing for as long as I can remember. Otherwise it's plink, plink, plink.

As a guy that plays a lot of torp boats I can say that this hardly effects my builds or play style.

I think one mistake many people make with there EBC builds is the thought that I will only blip now and then and burst people to death.... honestly good luck with that. You don't do that sort of burst in a torp boat.

What you want to be doing is moving around faster then people can follow you and in fact be switching targets to force teams to do stupid things... that is the strength of the torp boat.

Torp boats are a great addition to a team... most people really don't under stand what that means though. It doesn't mean dropping out and firing 8 torps into someone with a HY 3 HY 3 and preying.

I could be wrong but I don't see this change really effecting to much in the end.

There's between 12-14 things I do during a run. I was happy that they fixed the CD reset on the Beach Ball because of how it screwed the timings up.

It neuters this particular build, something that I've been working toward since the LoR beta. It's the most time, effort, and resources I've ever spent on a toon. Hence the frustration...

It's built around spending the least amount of time visible as possible - being visible is death, tractors, SNBs, VMs, etc, etc, etc...he's only got so much he can do to get away from that. Even with 41.6k hull and 10.8k shields, he's not built in the least for extended visibility.

Need to upgrade three of the BOFFs, but I can only take so much alt grinding with random results. I've only had a single Rom DOFF assignment since they fixed that (and, lol - looking right now, there's one for a Naus...meh).

Need to upgrade the DOFFs and had even been considering dropping the PWO(Torp) guys in favor of another (upgraded) SE(VM+) and a DCE(AtS). He doesn't spend that much time firing the torps normally, so the recharge reduction doesn't matter as much. Now, hrmm...

...course, that was tied into picking up the Elachi Subspace Torp and the Bioneural console (replacing one of the Trans consoles) - dropping one of the Rapids, moving the Tric Aft, moving the Breen Fore, to have the following:

Fore - Omega Torp, Subspace Torp, Rapid Trans Mk XI, Breen Cluster
Aft - Hyper Torp, Tric Torp Mk XII [Acc]x3, Nukara Mines

I know I should replace the Rapid Trans (either the one I had planned on keeping or the both) - but I don't see the value in the Exchange Torps and I run a permanent brainfart on the Advanced Torps. Besides, I spend way too much time in Ker'rat to get anywhere with either of my Fleets these days...meh.

Which gets into replacing the Neut - with the plan being an E-Neut [+HullRep] as well as looking at a Fleet Core...Hyper-Stabilizing (Eng/Aux) w/ [SCap].

And I just don't know now, because so much of what I did with this boat (as well as with BoPs for over a year as well as with non-BoPs involved that double/triple TS/HY combos)...

...so yeah, I vented.

Fair... I won't say this won't effect some builds of course it will.

Honestly this doesn't effect my torp boats though. They where also some of the least expensive ships I have setup, in comparison anyway.

As far as being visable... with the rom consoles we have I have never really found getting decloaked to be that big a deal... I get 10% more dmg... I pop one of my rom consoles and continue doing my thing till I can recloak. (most of the time 12s later)

Depending on who's trying to kill me, it can be a case of hardly noticing - having some fun dancing - or looking at the respawn.

The 100% to-hit with Sci abilities - tractors will land, VMs will land (ET still doesn't cleanse DOFF'd VM), torp spreads have a 100% to-hit (Subspace spreads are non-targetables), GW has a pretty target, (Tyken's getting buffed means that will be out there in the mix as well), SNB, Sensor Scan, Grav Anchor, GPG, etc, etc, etc.

It's far too easy to be overwhelmed by what folks are running out there - there's more everything and the kitchensink on the spacebar than finesse.
