So, I am looking to do a completely radically different direction for the first time playing this game in over a year.
I want to do a full-on plasma build, and I want the best my Dilithium can buy.
Looking at stats, I've noticed that the Romulan Plasma weapons are better than the Fleet Advanced Plasma's. If so, overall, what do you guys in your thinking would be the best way to bring out the maximum firepower of plasma, etc.?
When I get to Tier 4 I'll be getting Hyper Plasma Torpedos, but until then, I'll have to stick to regular plasma Torps until I can at least get the Omega Torpedo Launcher.
I will keep my Kinetic Cutting Beam, Assimilated Module, etc.
But what else works well?
Would the Reman/Romulan Space Sets prove worth it? Reman shield has the highest capacity of any shield existant in game. So I know I'll definitely be getting the MK XI/XII shield....
But what about the Deflector and Engines?
The ship I'll be doing a full plasma build on, will be my Jem'Hadar Heavy Escort Carrier. And may share some mods back and fourth with my Heghta...
So I have discovered the answer to my own question.
Romulan Plasma Dual Cannons, Mk XIs no less, put out a greater DPS than my mk 12 Fleet Plasma Dual Cannons.....
With the 2.5% chance of decreasing enemy ships damage resistance by 10% (which goes into effect as often as the plasma PROCs do) I am consistantly inflicting over 15,800 DPS using a full set of Romulan Plasma mk XIs..................
These Rom weapons are stronger than any of the fleet weapons. Way stronger, now I regret ever wasting the dil on the fleet weapons... Holy crap.
Worth it for now at least. Come time for the expansion, maybe not. The incoming Tholian Reputation will certainly have rewards that can change the game just like the Romulan one did. Hell, it made running a rainbow boat somewhat feasible by putting out a zero energy cost beam that added dps and some nice abilities. My advice is hoard your resources, get a respec token ready, and wait. May suck for a little bit now, but it's better than being forced to do all the work from scratch when something better pops.
