Can anyone give me the number how much faster it makes the torpedoes? Says only "increased speed and increased defense".

http://www.stowiki.org/Ability:_Prot...sma_Projectile

And it only works when using the boff ability high yield? So when I have this on CD I cannont benefit from the set bonus?

Can anyone comment on this topic who has tried out those Rom rep space sets? Is it even worth getting or not?

Thanks!

That is correct.

The +15 to particle gens will still apply though when in CD.

With the set the high-yield torpedoes are faster than a normal high-yield, but they are still a viable target for the enemy ("Beam Array - Fire at Will" is truly the bane of these torpedoes) , and aren't much better in terms of defence.

And yes, the bonus is only for the Torpedo High-Yield I/II/III.

On the good side there is the fact that the set works for any kind of plasma torpedo launcher: standard, Borg, Romulan.

I've used this set with my plasma torpedo ship, but in the end it was disappointing: the bonus hardly compensate the truly poor shield's regeneration. Even with shield's energy at 125% the regeneration is...
"Hey, why my shields aren't regenerat"
