Sorry if there is already a post or posts about this I am making this because I don't have a twitter account but had something to say.

"If you already have, what did you think? #STO"

Honestly the level cap is not needed on such an event/stf mission. It would make more sense to allow such lower leveling players to join in as they do in the other stf's like star base 24.

The loot (if you wish to call it that) is vendor trash for ANY player who is level 50; it might have been cool for a player below level 50 if those players we're allowed to play that is.

Sometimes there are better loot's to win; if you get 1st place in the event.
It can be difficult to get when many of the players in the event are in a Cstore/Lockbox/Fleet ships or gears. However those same people in such ships or with such gears often have no idea what they are doing or what a TEAM is.

I think the dev's messed up because they left out the rest of the games players. Why they would do this I have not a clue, because the rewards are not that good.

However the outcome if you collect the shards would be gold to any player.

I personally wouldn't mind lower level players that want to work & level with other players for a chance to try for the better loot or take the green Mk X gear that you get with the 480 dil & 1 shard..... Not to mention lower level players need the chance to advance too.

My two cent's take em or leave em.

I'd argue a good number of these players do know what a team is. It just happens to be the case the new scoring system favors players who screw over teammates and do anything but play as a team.

My suggestion is if you already have the trophy, then let someone else get first place. This is what I am doing right now since I have the Crystalline Entity Trophy on my Fed and KDF character. Just too bad that its not as cool looking as the new Crystalline Entity.

One thing I wish they would fix with the CE is those invisible shards. It's like the STFs with the invisible Borg Torpedoes.

Invisible shards are terrible, I explode frequently when the closest thing is more than 5k away. Its like they aren't there at all, since your damage numbers from area weapons aren't hitting them either.

I do enjoy this STF and I'm glad they revamped it. However the problem I have with this one and SB24 is the placing system. The only way to get 1st place is to hop in a kitted out escort and do nothing but sit next to the Entity and straight DPS and then win the purple gear at the end. I decided for the Entity to follow the Dev Blog advice about the creatures vulnerabilities so while I'm not DPSing the thing I am hitting it with Energy Drains, Gravity Wells, Scramble Sensors, Tachyon Beams, and all the other useful science powers in the mission that help the TEAM win and survive. I don't think it's fair that I have never once ranked even 3rd because I decided to be a team player instead of just another DPSer.

They should improve the ranking rewards to be guaranteed MK XI and to make the whole thing harder or add an elite version without the ridiculous ranking ladder.

This could be due to the design of the scoring system players do not play as a team (I thought playing as a team was the whole point of STF's), however some of the players play as 1 entity themselves to score a place on the leader board & thus not as a team nor are they getting green Mk X gear as the team players are.

Still I think it's unfair to single out the players below level 50, which was my whole point. *shrug*

First off, I had no idea there was a score board system for STFs. I really didn't know this.

Anyways, my two cents: The Crystalline Entity Event to me was just too easy. Nothing like the Borg STFs, which can be difficult and more awarding. Let me break it down:

-First off, all you have to do fire at the entity, then get beyond 10 KMs when it's charging it's main shock wave, then go right back in when it's done firing and repeat the process. That's it. No optional what-so-ever, meaning no additional prizes or awards.
-Which leads to second - to me, it just feels like the Tholians are there just for show. They seem to have no purpose except slow you down. That's it. If there was an optional to the event, like take out all the Tholian ships within 15 mintues, then we have ourselves a better game in the event, and the stakes higher and have more awards than what's available.
-Third, the way the event plays seem like you don't need ANY team work what so ever. Heck, you can just go in and fight the entity solo, and just ignore the Tholians all together. It feels like there's no point in there being a team. I mean, sure two guys can take on the entity while the other three fight the Tholians, but if it's just that, it kinda feels way to easy and therefore no challenge. No communication.

Overall, I give this event a 2 out of 5 tops.
