OK, I just thought of a cool solution that is working within the system and lore/fluff solution to the silly power issue.

Look that the ferengi set, temporal set and Jem?Hadar sets. They all have a ?if used on X ship? extra bonus.

WHAT IF! The Romulan and Reman sets also had that if all three parts are equipped on a warbird that they receive a +10 to all subsystems.

BAM! Fixed and fluffy(if your nerd hobby uses that term) aka ?fits with lore?

Just a fun idea that might solve the issue not perfect but heck I would use it.

I get that they changed it from a 'penalty' to a new base level. Without the ability to go below 25 on some systems, we are significantly worse off - all the more so because the [W->x] singularity cores will now be limited to 85 base wpn power. And we lose out on efficiency bonuses.

That doesn't fix anything, in the sense that any ship could get the bonus. Romulan ships still start behind.

You can still go below 25.

Attack:
x/25 Weapons
x/25 Shields
x/15 Engines
x/15 Auxiliary

Defense:
x/25 Weapons
x/25 Shields
x/15 Engines
x/15 Auxiliary

Speed:
x/15 Weapons
x/15 Shields
x/25 Engines
x/25 Auxiliary

Balanced:
x/25 Weapons
x/25 Shields
x/25 Engines
x/25 Auxiliary

You can still 100 Weapons/Shields if you select the Attack/Defense preset.
You can still 100 Engines/Auxiliary if you select the Speed preset.

You're not limited to 85...unless you try to get there from Balanced.

But this raises the question - is that how it is supposed to be working?
Are the Attack/Defense/Speed presets going to be changed to work like Balanced?
Is Balance going to be changed to work like Attack/Defense/Speed?
Or are they going to leave it as is...?

Well good sir it does is a way as it would only work on warbirds and warbirds only have the minus 10. I'm not sure if you know about the special bonuses that are one a few sets that only work on a preset list of ships.

It is a solution but not the best solution of just removing the -10.

Exactly.

The preset still works. But you can't get there by sliding the levels from balanced. Which is the bug?

Logically, a new base level doesn't change the lowest setting? I'm not sure.

It's not necessarily a case that it is a bug.

Attack/Defense/Speed might be intended to work that way.
Balanced might be intended to work that way.

--OR--

Attack/Defense/Speed should work like Balanced.

--OR--

Balanced should work like Attack/Defense/Speed.

But it could be any of the three...or heck...it could be something else entirely. We won't know until Cryptic says.

Perhaps both are there for testing and feedback. We don't know.

Well, I submitted all my stuff prior to the weekend whatsit (mostly spelling and grammar errors in mission dialog. And if it never got fixed, the fun jump to the bottom of the singularity core (where I got stuck).

I think part of the problem we are having now we are a week out before LoR goes live. The cryptic team are in hard core dev mode most likely working 16hr days. Most likely the Dev team has two lists a "must fix" list and a "this stuff can wait" list. There is a chance the power level might be in the "this stuff can wait" list.

But I still would like to see this addressed.

It's in the "wait until the mass complaints and threats start" list.

just kidding. but the last dev post in here made it pretty obvious that they had made their final decision. Only thing thats going to change it is mass feedback after the launch. And from what we've experienced since the last patch, i think it's going to happen.

You should definitely be able to push your power setting for single subsystem to 100. Not being able to move a slider manually above 85 is a bug and we are looking into it.
