Did...did you just use DITL.org as a source?
Everything on that page that is in white letters in fanfiction and the guy who made the site even admitted it sometimes contradicts established facts.
I suggest you read the colour key (a button in the upper right corner) for that site.
Don't get him started on that. Next thing you know he'll be spouting off about how every ship should have stats based solely on their in-universe dimensions and mass, while blissfully refusing to actually provide anything resembling verifiable in-universe measurements.
Bortasque like enhancements will almost certainly come....
For Cryptic's Ha'apax Warbird. You know, the Cryptic designed ship that's even bigger than the D'Deridex, that turns even slower and has a built in disembarking pet. They'll package the Ha'apax up into a three pack with all the enhancements that you're asking to happen to the D'Deridex.
However, consider the D'deridex also gets a battle cloak. For those who haven't used one on the BOPs before, unlike a regular cloaking device the battle cloak can be turned on even if you're in the middle of combat. It's a powerful tool for BOPs, it might be even more powerful for a big ship with the hull points and armor to survive those lucky parting torpedoes. There's no other heavy cruiser with a battle cloak to compare it to.
They should have made D'Deridex a battleship - with tac layout and battlecloak (or whatever romulan equivalent). Big, slow turning with enough firpower to decloak and alpha strike someone and the hide again.
But that's not what a D'Dreidex is.... it's a bruiser cruiser. In fact, it shouldn't be able to even fit cannons. It's suppose to be a beam boat.
You can't just put your favorite BO layout on a ship because you like it and be damned with the canon.
Because of inertial dampeners perhaps? They remove the inertia from the ships so every ship in this game should turn on a dime regardless of size.
Inertial dampeners keep things inside the ship from getting salsified by the extreme acceleration forces incurred during spaceflight (especially FTL travel). They have no effect whatsoever on the ship's flight characteristics.
