# 1 Video Card's Cooling Fan
01-14-2010, 08:27 PM
Was wondering is anyone might know something abou this:

My video card runs hot ingame, as would be expected, but once i quit the game, my video card's fan keeps running at 70% even though the temperature has dropped back below 55.

Shouldn't the Drivers automatically reduce the fan's speed when no longer needed.

I'm using a GTS 250 (1gig) with XP 64

Note that i am also using 190.62 drivers as some stated it corrects stuttering ingame.

Any insights?
thanks

It's a bug in the 190.62 drivers. GTS 250 / GTX 9800+ cards won't slow down the fan after beeing in 3D mode.

So in short, i have to decide if i want to live with stuttering graphics OR a fan that won't stop turning?
