I am trying to make plans for a character and dont have access to all of the ships so looking for some info
As of this moment, is there a T4 romulan ship that has 2x Science BOFF stations and +N to Aux? Do any of the T5 ships that were already described in the add-on pack fit this definition? From what I can tell the answer to both questions is "no", but I dont know for sure and would like a definitive statement. With no T4 or T5 romulan ships, and no access to "allied" T5 ships, Romulan science captains will be forced to use allied T4 ships until some point in the future when another ship is added. And that would affect my plans.
Given that several of the c-store ships have incorrect or missing stats, and that there will most likely be a balance pass on all of the ships, it's likely that the stats on the ships will change, including possibly boff stations.
Of the ones that I can see at the current moment, though, all of the T4 and T5 ships have a tac or eng as their commander slot. Only one has a dedicated LtC Science, and one has a LtC universal (but no other science) - and both of those are zen store retrofits. Of the free ships, the highest science slot it a Lieutenant.
ETA: Both of the large ships (D'D and Ha'ap) have bonuses to Aux, but it varies depending on which model.
(I don't have access to fleet ship stats; supposedly the tier V ship there will have a science focus.)
From what Dan has said on TTS, I think there may be a science specific ship in development, but I don't know if it's going to be around at launch. As far as the existing ships, I don't think the specs on the high level ones are finalized yet. (Some of the high level ships you see in the shipyard are obviously placeholders.)
For Tier 1-4, I don't think we'll have much choice in ships for a while. Just free Warbird, c-store ship, or Ally dilithium ship. I personally hope and expect that they'll add more ships to the warbird line-up over time, but a lot of that may be post launch. On the other hand, Dan did say there are ships we haven't seen yet. Don't know exactly what he means by that.
There is a C-store VA Warbird that is science oriented (I believe it has a commander science slot). But if you want to fly an actual "science ship", you have to ally with the federation or choose the Gorn ship.
I was actually thinking about that and I had a proposal for Cryptic....going to get yelled at and and tormented so bad for this but here I go.
The Vulcan ship, allow Romulans access to it regardless of their alliance. -ducks- Don't shoot!!! Just hear me out.
With D'Tan, an outspoken reunificationist in charge and with many of the Republic citizens also being a part of the movement I don't see why the Vulcan's wouldn't send some older ships out to them, let them fix the vessels up and use them for whatever.
On top of that the Romulans have used refurbished Vulcan ships before when they where trying to sneak across the border and take Vulcan. This happened in the TNG episode Unification and since it's because of this episode we have the Republic why the hell not throw a nod to the reason we have the Romulan faction the way it is now.
