I've fallen down there, too. My concern at that point is the perpetual failure of the /killme command. Whether I can beam out or not, people should have the command to terminate themselves if reaching a spawn/respawn point will solve the problem.
/killme only gives you useless advice such as resetting your bridge officer's rally points or suggesting the /stuck command, even though you're not stuck in the terrain. /stuck works when you're clipped into the environment, but there are places in STO where you don't need to get unstuck, you're trapped in an environmental bowel that you can't climb out of and simply need to respawn instead of aborting the whole mission.
