I know this might be a slightly difficult thing to do, but I have some things I'd like to see changed when the Romulans choose an allegiance. I allied with the Klingons since I know when the real release date comes out I will be going with Federation. I wanted to see how different it was. I'm sure my observations are the same on the Fed side as the KDF side, just less extreme.
I noticed that if I was doing a mission that was tied to the Klingon government, and not the Romulan Republic, that my crew were very different. I did some missions that I clearly remember never playing, I don't know if they are Romulan geared or if they are some of the ones added to the earlier levels of the KDF. I know they treated me as if I wasn't fully Klingon, so I figured they were Romulan-Klingon aimed.
Nevertheless, all of a sudden my crew and even the words my captain was saying in dialog were very Klingon. As if overnight my crew was completely brainwashed by a Klingon School Teacher. They cared nothing for life, fought in the name of glory and honor, even if it meant destroying a Starbase just for the sake of ending a weapons route. I had no options, it was do it or not.
Yes this is war, and war isn't always fair. But these are Romulan Republic Officers here! D'Tan would never sanction such brutal acts of mercilessness. We hardly tried to talk through it diplomatically. The base didn't come right out and say they were doing it, so kill them all. Fortunately a Tal Shiar Warbird decloaked and we destroyed it instead.
This is of course the Klingon Allegiance and so it is clearly seeable where the personality discrepancies are, but the Federation side must be geared somewhat similarly just that both the Republic and the Federation are both of a more peaceful mindset. I myself want this fixed. If I play a Romulan, I expect to play a Romulan, regardless of what faction my alliance with is.
I should not be a Klingon taskmaster or a Federation bureaucrat. I should be a Romulan or Reman who is fighting for freedom from the Tal Shiar and doing what they think is needed. Likely this will be more forceful than the Federation would appreciate, but more gentle then a Klingon would tolerate. Thank you for reading.

I absolutely agree. At the very least, I would prefer the option to not pick an ally... even if that means sacrificing the perks that come with such. I'd rather struggle like a true refugee rather than capitlate to the whims of a foriegn government.
I found the sudden use of Klingon parlance to be completely out of place, and the inclusion of KDF BOffs was unnecessary, and unwelcome on the bridge of my warbird...they will find a nice home on the exchange, as training fodder, or dismissed altogether before I ever consider using them.
On a plus note, the arc has been intriguing. I look forward to moving futher down the story after the level-cap is removed (or May 21...whichever comes first )
I didn't notice any Klingon parlance in the actual Romulan Episodes. Now, in the Journal under Available, there are two or three Klingon Episode missions that have escaped their permissions. One on Rura Penthe, and one...it's in O.Leonis in the southeast corner. If it's those two missions you're thinking of, I very much suspect that's a bug.
Seriously I don't mind the Affiliation business with either Fed or KDF. You are right about allowing as to be Romulans. The way I see it, when Fed or KDF officer gives you a mission, you should have options. These options you let you contact your high command about what you Allies are requesting you to do. This give one the sense of flow that you are not just taking order from a start fleet officer nor are you take order from a KDF officer. And you are not part of the faction either. Another this which am not please about is we shouldn't be allow to fly any of the other faction ships. The reason for that is, it's all about the story, if am giving a mission as a new player and complete let say a fed mission as part of me affiliation with them. If the mission was interesting this will force me to create an alt to check the rest of that story out in the Fed Side. Flying out faction ship just breaks the Romulan faction. You must as well just use the Alien character generator to create a Romulan on the fed side or KDF side.
"You ask why we give our ships computer normal emotions. Do you really want a warship incapable of loyalty?"
Agreed. I did some Delta Volanis runs as a Fed-side Romulan to get some dilithium, and while the first one (Gorn ships in system attacking miners, please ask them politely to leave. Or blow them up. Whatever.) didn't give me any problems (the only speaking part was done by the Fed contact), the second one had me fighting the Widrab in caves, where they were running a surveillance operation, and suddenly my crew is all "sir" this and "prime directive" that, totally throwing me off. The third one was an "Aid the Planet" mission, which had me representing the Federation...but diplomatically, should I really be representing the Federation, or rather JUST the Federation? Those medical supplies were crafted on New Romulus, I'll have you know, and you just can't get that quality from Federation supplies...
I know it's a lot of work, but hey, adding a new faction is a lot of work, so be prepared to do it right, y'know? Give the Genesis missions a bit of love so Romulans get appropriate text.
Man Hunt and.....can't remember the name of the other, but yes those are Klingon storyline episodes and it is a bug that we can run them as a Romulan, though you can't finish Man hunt.
What do you mean - I finished it. (AFAIK.)
