They said they were doing the Tachyo too...no Tachyo love as of yet. Need to harp on them about it.

on holodeck, with a 5 turn console and temporal console negvar i have 29.3 turn at rest. on tribble i got 34.6. it literally spins like a top in place, with no actual movement in any direction, just turning. at typical engine power levels and with EPtE 1, its at 39. pretty amazing to see it in action really. if only the dderidex could turn half as well with similar.

i can get a fleet galaxy to turn at 20 with 5 turn consoles, a fleet ambi at 22 with 4, and a fleet excel to 26 with 4. on my fleet ktinga set up the same as the neg var, but with 1 less turn console, im at 40 turn at rest, and 44 turn at typical combat level.

This is on Holodeck.

With an RCS console (40%) and Tachyo on my Fleet Defiant (engine power level at 53), my turn rate is ~42.6.

With no RCS or Tachyo, my B'rel Retrofit (engine power at ~69), my turn rate is ~46. With Enhanced Battle Cloak, it's ~52.

If you want exact numbers, I'll have to get that for you tonight when I'm at home.

A 37,5% turn console on tribble gives +2,8 turn rate for my galaxy. The same benefit remains when I saucer sep, which kinda defeats the purpose. Seems like the stardrive section has not increased base turn, just bonus. Which also means, any % turn bonuses apply like if you were in docked state.

They just changed the RCS consoles. They didn't change any of the other % modifiers to turn. Doesn't the Saucer Sep just add +Turn? It doesn't add +Base Turn...it adds +Turn, no?

Ye, but for some reason I thought it changes the base. I'm not using the console mostly (I'm the saucer guy lol) so never particulary looked on that.

saucer cep and MVAM just ads a flat chunk of turn, everything is still based on your base turn rate. thats why the bug is still a superiors turner to the beta MVAM. its only got room for 2 consoles, and they buff based on 16 base, will any turn console on the bug buffs at a 20 turn rate.

Mine...

Mirror Vo'Quv (base 5) - 6.5 (she needs a respec bad, lol)
Mirror Star (base 7) - 11.4
Mirror Vor'cha (base 10) - 18.0
Chel Grett (base 13) - 25.6
JHEC (base 13) - 25.1

Mirror Deep (base 13) - 26.1
Mirror Advanced (base 16) - 29.7
Hegh'ta (base 21) - 44.1

This ships in SandyBrown have a RCS Mk XI.
The ships in YellowGreen have a Tachyo.

Anything below 20 feels sluggish. Anything over 80 and I can lose track of which way I'm facing if I'm covered in effects on a small ship. I hit EM on the Hegh'ta and I'm at 124...

My non-Cruiser guys will generally be sitting mid/high 30s to low/mid 40s.

Heck, it's like testing the Ody w/ Chevron over on Tribble on the guy that flies the Chel Grett. With the Chevron out, his 1/4 was ~22. With EPtE, he was in the 40s. Hit EM and he was in the 70s. In a space whale...wheeeeee.

I couldn't imagine multiple RCS consoles, EPtE, and hitting EM on a B'rel over on Tribble...like spinning a top, eh?
Agreed, you can get a BoP to be flat out ridiculous with turning capability if you want to, though it's usually unnecessary. I've been out of the game for a few months, but back in January my Hegh'ta could keep up with the average Defiant in PvP, with the Defiant using Attack Pattern Omega.

The only escort I've ever seen that really gives me a run for my money maneuverability-wise is the JHAS. The only weakness that thing has is the lack of science consoles, which isn't so much a 'weakness' as an 'inconvenience' for some players.

Ultimately, I'm okay with maneuverability changes, as long as the current hierarchy is generally kept in place. That being: BoPs > JHAS > Federation escorts > Klingon Raptors + Destroyers > Federation science vessels > Klingon battlecruisers > Federation cruisers + carrier and KDF 'science ships' and carriers.

In the interest of correct attribution, I would like to point out that although bareel's thread is the most recent discussion on the topic, I actually read about the -3 penalty long before. Here is an old thread on RCS accelerators:

Of course, since the original post is now attributed to "Archived Post", I don't know who first discovered it.
