Ok, I'm not prepared to deal with all of these changes or why they are being made.

I'm only going to deal with one specific item in this thread: Graviton Pulse Generator.

To the Devs, I know you mean well but this is a bad change.

Graviton Pulse Generator can actually hit an entire opposing team in PvP (5 targets).

The debuff can be increased up to FIFTY SECONDS.

It takes 1 full Eng Team to clear this per player, so if multiple targets are hit it requires multiple Engineering teams. That is a completely out of balance cost opportunity for a single console.

Does a power that can hit five targets and can require five full engineering teams with a debuff that can last for fifty seconds actually require a wider arc?

No.

So please either reverse this change, or better yet please review Grav Pulse Generator and limit the amount that this console debuff can be increased when used on players because 50s is completely out of whack and so is a 50% firing arc increase.

Pretty please?

Even better, have this debuff cleared by more things. It is a movement debuff, after all.

I suppose tht's one option, but I still consoles like this and theta are way out of balance with regards to cost opportunity to slot and the amount of opposing player clears they demand.

That I agree with. Graviton Pulse is actually the worse console in the game after AMS, which is less dangerous but more annoying.

Yeah it's up there for worst offenders for sure.

My guess is, it was done to give Bortas and D'Deridex's a chance to actually use front firing powers, vs escorts that basically it doesn't matter anyway, because you're almost always pointed forward, and if you're not can whip around in a blink and be pointing forward.

Of course the escort drivers aren't going to like it, they'll have to make sure they stay even more out of a cruisers and large ship's firing arc now, but *shrug*... if it makes the big ship drivers happy, and the escort drivers unhappy, I'm all for it.

I think you missed the entire point of this thread.

I'm ambivalent about all of the changes except for one, and that concerns specifically Graviton Pulse Generator.

Thanks for contributing, I guess?

No I get what you're saying, and I guess what I'm saying is that the arc increase really only benefits the larger slower ships in the long run.

Basically if it was fine before the change for the escorts bascially, it'll be fine now when the bigger ships can actually start to use it reliably.

I agree that it probably needs to be toned down, but that has nothing to do with the increased arc, and only on the fact that it's a 50s debuff.

So my conclusion stands. To reverses it back it way it was just makes it into an Escort viable console only, and does nothing except make it unbalanced. Toning it down makes more sense, but as it stands right now, toning it down has nothing to do with the increased arc.

That may be what Cryptic intends but Ultimatium is pointing out what will really happen.

A bigger arc not only makes slower ships use it easier, but lets escorts peg more of a team with it.

Well that I agree with, which is why I said that reversing the changes doesn't fix the problem, it just makes it back so only escorts can use it.

I also agree what needs to happen is his second option, where the generator needs a good toning down.
