Hey all, just want to say my opinion about this is that the Heavy Escort Carrier should maybe add a 4th weapon slot since the ship is bigger and plus the turn rate is bad for cannons and trust me if you go with just beams it wont do a thing since there BS.

Anyway I suggest this and I would like any opinions please I do not want bad comments or anything negative.

Thank you

Turnrate bad for cannons? You need better engines and/or more engine power if you are having trouble lining up cannons. It's no JHAS or BoP, but it's plenty fast for lining things up in the 45 degree arc of DHCs.

I tend to keep my baseline engines at 25. With skill and engine bonuses, it ends up running around 50ish, and I don't have an RCS on the ship. I can honestly say that as long as I'm moving, I have never had an issue keeping DHCs on a target. The turn rate on it (14) is lower than a Tac Escort (17), but it's still very easy to keep guns on target by varying your speed.

It's an escort, so it won't get 8 slots. That's the cruisers thing.

Honestly, I have no problem keeping targets in my fore arc with my Armitage. And when I do turn away, my turrets and hangar pets provide constant harassing fire. Having an extra turret in the back seems unnecessary.

Oh! Sorry, this is Fed Shipyard...

Mirror Advanced Escort probably wins for you.

Also reporting having zero difficulty keeping DHCs on target. Except when I'm going backwards - always get mixed up trying to turn going backwards...

Mind you, I'll take the 4th aft slot if it's offered...

If you're really having trouble keeping DHCs on target, you could try dual beam banks. Their DPS is second only to DHCs and they have a broader firing arc.

I think the Exploration cruiser should have two more weapons, so it'll be 5 front, 5 rear because it's an even bigger ship than the HEC, and beams are just BS so you need more of them to do damage.

Lol take me srsly, guys!

I love my Armitage the way it is. The cannons wreck everything in their path, and the fighters keep my enemies distracted while I line up another attack run.
Say NO to mandatory Arc!
