# 1 Ship Engines Question!
04-30-2013, 02:00 PM
hi all,
just wanted to know what are the fastest engines in sector space?

reason I ask is simple:
doing the tour the universe event I am noticing a lot of ships going really fast, faster than me and i'm doing 20.93 with 34.9 when diplomatic ammunity has been granted.
now how is this possible for other ships to just fly straight past me without them being in the quantum slipstream?

what would I need in order to fly faster?

my driver coil skill is maxed out.
would it be the new romulan reputation engines or something?

cheers for the info on this one.

Need Borg engines, Odyssey helps, plus Diplomatic Immunity plus the other granted thing which boosts speed. STO wiki helps to.

Borg engines, odyssey or vesta help too. It all goes without forgetting driver coils skills.

I always try to get both diplomatic immunity and Raiding party, a visit to Wolf 359 just before usually does it.

Borg engines
Raiding Party (DI equivalent from KDF, stacks with DI)
+25 Driver Coil from crit'ing a certain DOff mission
I think I saw one of the Elite Fleet Deflector give 8.1 Driver Coil.

Doesnt the MACO space set give that asynchronous warp field for a boost to sector space speed?

yea, but the bonus aint as good as you get from the borg engines.
not much of a difference, but still.
If you like the RPG trinity, then you hate MMOs, you hate working, competitive fair PvP, you hate balanced engaging solo content,
and,
you hate PvE "adventure zones". because the trinity is incompatible with any of these.

The two Minute cool down hinders the use of that. Quantum Slipstream only gets you about through at most two system blocks. You're stuck on "standard" warp drive for the next two minuets. You can get several sectors with that. Plus Quantum Slipstream doesn't allow you to turn, some sections you need to a nearly 180 turns, so you'll need to drop out for a few moments.

You can do the entire "galaxy" in 20 Minutes with time to spare. I think I managed it in 14 minutes and 45 seconds, with a Mark 10 Borg set, and a Crystalline shard chasing me the whole way!

For Tribble and post LOR/May 21st, I think the highest ranked warp/singularity cores that you can equip should be able to do this.
