Weaker cruisers when I queue for pvp because the guys in there want to turn and not to tank/heal. Can't wait!

Idiots will always be idiots. But the problem for you now will be the guy whose tanking, you realize your shield dropped, your EptS is on its newly designed longer cooldown, and that cruiser who used to not be able to turn, is suddenly firing a ton of Rommie/Omega torps into you, that before was impossible for it to do.

I'd love to test this all out myself but still updating. Sounds very good though about the changes, can't wait to try it out, maybe I might find a use for those RCS consoles after all =D

Also last I checked the EPtS skill the only thing nerfed about it is you get less power to shields for 10s but otherwise the shield damage resistance stays there for 30s unless the tooltip is bugged -.-. So it's not a massive crying nerf, just a slight one. I for one welcome anything that allows the engineering heavy ships to have generally better power levels, staying power, stats through engineering consoles/powers and consistent DPS.

Oh anyone know if the changes affect the battle modules turn rate boost btw?

Mainly because my escort went from a buffed turn rate of 30 something to pushing 40 something. So yeah, it's cool, you got yourself a 12 turn rate. But in the end you're still a whale comparatively.

It feels nice. I get it. And it is a boost. But RCS consoles still stack very well and assist ships that already turn great in turning great-er.

I'm not saying this is a bad change. I just think in terms of overall impact, it's a bit of an optical illusion. I use RCS on the Kumari because its turn rate is lower than a Defiant. I use RCS on my Vesta because I want to be able to bring the cannons to bear quicker. Both of these ships get a nice boost from this change. It's great. And yes, my Cruisers (I went back and tested it on a Galaxy R and an Odyssey, neither of which I fly on holodeck, but which I've been considering getting) get a boost. It's just seeing that boost applied across the board, I realize that this benefit helps everyone.

I support the change. I like the new RCS consoles and think they'll be much more valuable in end-game setups now. I'm just not sold on the idea that this change is the big deal it appears to be for cruisers.

They'd have to be firing torps since the changes to EPtX have essentially killed a lot of cruisers' ability to boost weapons power, and so the energy drain their TICKLE beams experience will be maddening.

The change to EPtX is a tricky one. It forces cruiser captains to get locked into the shields BOFF power. And it handcuffs engineering BOFF powers further because of shared cooldowns.

Tactical captains should be able to relate. It's like back in the day before Tactical Team had the shield distribution ability tacked onto it. So you were forced to use multiple tactical teams because you didn't equip a single beam on your Escort, and yet here you were with a power that didn't do much except share a cooldown with the science team or engineering team you were probably using instead.

Scary.

And I will smoke that moron with his improved turnrate and no hull resists in a matter of seconds. So will the Borg.

This is off-topic for the thread, but the tooltip is bugged. The entire buff lasts for 20 seconds.

Wait, you think people using RCS Consoles in Borg filled STFs have no hull resists?

I fly my fleet Tor'Kaht in STFs without any armor consoles, no need for it. It is either a one shot by a heavy torp or isometric charge. Or so little damage that the shooter is dead before hurting me.
