Hello PVPers I have seen over the years many fleets discussing rules what is ok was is not. I have seen many disagreements what is ok broken fair or cheese. From what I have seen over the last 3 years is that no one agrees on what is fair game. I had and idea that MIGHT solve the problem, limiting any consoles to two per team. Also have another idea of having the consoles in tiers example t1 is one console t2 is two consoles

This has been discussed for many years now so I don't expect a simple solution overnight but those are my thought.

If you have any feedback or ideas please provide them here.

Thank you for you?re time and see you on the battle field.

Hi link,

Im not sure but is this supposed to be for 5v5 premade matches? Or for tournaments? This is obviously not going to happen in the open arenas

Also, is there really a balance between tier 1 to 5 ships in terms of uni consoles that you could say tier 4/5 consoles are better then the ones that come from tier 1 to 3 ships?

Dunno. I think thats really hard to tell.

Something that's going to be added with LoR and the Romulans is 2pc set bonuses if you've got the Refit and Retrofit consoles for the ship.

ex:

T'varo Refit
T'varo Retrofit
Fleet T'varo w/ Refit and Retrofit consoles gets a 2pc set bonus for having both of them.

Hey MT i was thinking more for 5v5 premade matches. And about the tiers it was more like example Grav pulse console might be in the T1 because it can disable five ships for up to 50ish sec but the jump console can be added to the t2 or t3 because it's not so OP. In other words we need to figure out where to add those consoles t1 t2 or even t3.

heres a thought,
if its in the game and working as the game designers intended, deal with it

on a side note, I have been playing MMOs since 98', lots of them, played TONS of RTSs, and LOTS of FPS and I have NEVER came across such a hostile comunity in a game as this one- my god, there are so many out there playing STO that cant take losing a match and push the blame onto this ship, or that console, or that boff ability at the end of a match- try this on for size, accept the game is a bit of rock, paper, scissor- YOU CANT BUILD a ship that is "the best" and will always win, you will face a ship captain that is built to work around all of your edges and captialize on all of your weaknesses, so many players in this game that call themselves the "top pvpers" cant wrap their head around this concept and they continue to try and get others to follow their view of the game

you should not feel bad if you bought a ship and it came with a console, you go into pvp and win, and some jerk tells you "your using cheese! and you suck!"

you should not feel bad if you are trying to mix up the classes and ships cause YOU came up with a neat idea, just to go into a pvp match and have some jerk tell you "your class doesnt belong in that ship! and you suck!"

Really, just have fun in this game, go do some pvps, and if some jerk tells you at the end of the match you won only because you did this or that, put that guy on ignore- cause hes just a control freak and the only thing thats going to make that jerk happy is if you play STO his way and not the way the game designers intended
Just because it is not a cookie cutter escort does not mean it should not be in the game.

Win or lose, in the end it does not reflect on who you are as a person, in the end it is how you treat others that really reflects who you are.

The best thing to do is have a quick chat pre-match so each team can come to an agreement.

For the queues, just expect the worst. Even if you don't use it yourself.

the fleet boys go into pvp matches vs a group of pugs

being a normal human being i side with the pugs

all pugs should do whatever neccesary to destroy them

i suggest a maybe meeting at drozana with a few pugs and making a kill console attack set up and then wait for a premade

with at least one person in a shuttle

if only this were true, you see man... the game designers dont even know how the game is intended to work so....

the best solution would be to simply disable in pvp matches only, any items that give a power that isnt a Bridge officer or a Captain power.

99% of the complaints/problems solved.

So that leaves folks free to complain about the vast majority of things in STO that simply are not working as intended...
