As noted, be careful not to confuse the LTS and Legacy Packs. There is no Borg Bridge Officer in the LTS - only the playable species (Liberated Borg Human/Klingon) - but the Reman-Borg officer is included in the Legacy Pack.

The Captains table is pretty pointless, really. It's a nice idea but there's no reason to go there since there are much more useful neutral zones like Drozana station, DS9 and New Romulus. The 1000-day ships - the Chimera and Peghqu' Heavy Destroyers - are special ships for Starfleet and the KDF, respectively. They function as a hybrid crossover between Escorts and Cruisers.

You also recieve additional Boff and ship slots for each character, additional character slots, a token which allows you to make a one-off purchase of either the Galaxy, Intrepid or Defiant retrofit ships for Starfleet or the B'Rel retrofit, Kar'Fi Carrier or Marauder Flight Deck Cruiser for the KDF - note please that this is not the same as buying these ships from the store - if you dismiss a ship bought with the token, it is gone and you will not have another token for that character.

Actual Romulan and Reman content, released on 21st May as part of Legacy Of Romulus, is a free expansion. However, items included in the Legacy Pack - whilst not neccessarily exclusive to the pack - are not free.

In essense, Legacy Of Romulus and the Legacy Pack are two different items - LoR is the base content for the game and is free, but the Legacy Pack includes additional items that you must pay for.

For example, if you buy the Legacy Pack it includes the Liberated Borg Reman bridge officer. If you don't buy the Legacy Pack, you can still get this item, but you must purchase it from the C-Store (for 500 Zen, I imagine.)

As Cryptic has stated, the Legacy Pack is if anything, a discount pack, most stuff in it can be bought seperately once LoR has released, doing it through the Legacy Pack just saves you the money.

Though not much for me, since I first bought the Starter Pack, only today did I decide to get the Legacy Pack after all, kinda stings that the Starter Pack price isn't deduced from it, but oh well.

So, yeah, the short version:

* The Lifetime Subscription grants you unique things that non-Lifers will not get (playable Borg, special ships) and some other stuff anyone can buy from the C-Store, which Lifers get for "free"
* Legacy of Romulus is the new "expansion" with Romulan content
* Anyone can play the Romulan content when it launches
* The Legacy Pack is a collection of new items for use with Romulan characters, at a discount for buying them in bulk as a pre-order
* Most of the items in the Legacy Pack will also be available in the C-Store for individual purchase, but at full price

VERY likely to be going for the lifetime subscription myself.

One query though, and couldn't find the answer elsewhere: Does the veteran ship token allow for me to obtain the Chimera for my Tac AND my Sci?

The Chimera is a Fed Vet Reward ship so every single Fed character on your account can claim a Chimera Destroyer. Your KDF can claim their version too - and your Roms can claim there version when it's finally introduced.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

In addition to what cosmic said, claiming the Chimera does not use up your 600-day VA ship token. So you can get the Defiant/Intrepid/Galaxy retrofit and the Chimera.

Brilliant - Thanks for the reply!

Will likely be purchasing the subscription this weekend - had been weighing up whether to buy the legacy pack or the Lifetime sub, but have decided on the subscription - can always save the stipend for toward the Romulan items I may want (and already have the starter pack).

I believe this answers your question.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5QGkOGZubQ.

Cryptic does not want people to buy LTS or Gold memberships. That is why they do not make having a gold subscription attractive. They want your money bit by bit or better yet key by key rather then to have a stable income coming in from subscriptions.

Its about the micro-transactions baby!

If I was offered a LTS for $99 USD or a Gold for $9.99 /mo, I would whip out my credit card before the sales rep could finish their sentence.

Ive been in business for over 10 years and I have learned cold, hard, real money always trumps potential money any day. As the old saying goes, A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
