I just finished it at level 34 in a base D'Deridex, and I only died twice. Once from me being a doofus and not immediately skipping the Reinforcements cutscene And the other was from lag, which can happen to any of us.

Anyway, I even did it in a DHC D'Deridex as a Tac Captain.

I'm even requesting that as Fed and KDF we are able to take part in this battle as part of the Reinforcement Fleet that warps in to help out.

Please Devs? Please? Fed and KDF version?!

2 deaths? Consider yourself lucky then. I have tried to do this mission so many times it hurts just to think about it, not to speak of blowing up multiple times over.

I'm wondering if there is some odd bug where some are seeing the correct number of Elachi ships in the last wave, and also having the allied support ships not stuck in the endless repair loop, but others are getting the opposite.

It would certainly explain a lot of things if I'm right...

Well, nothing in today's patch for this mission. I'm hoping that the final battle will get fixed before long. In the meantime, I'll look at the new KDF stuff. My Romulan captain is at level 50 now, and just waiting for this mission to be repaired.

Devs, please don't listen to the people here crying for this mission to be made less then what it currently is.
How sweet. Another naysayer whom justifies his opinions by putting those of others down.

I've done it just today on my T'varo retrofit. It's all geared with Mark XI stuff, about half of it rare and the other half uncommon, with an all caustic plasma weapons setup. For the last wave, I had a few objectives in mind:

1. Not start with the Command Ship from the get-go. That's just not possible.
2. Focus on the Battleships. Those do not respawn. It helps.
3. Thin down enemy frigates/escorts to lower the damage flying about.
4. Kill one dreadnought and then the other before swinging on the Command Ship.

Killing the Battleships first was a rather good idea. They really don't come back after that. Destroying support/control ships fall in the same category, though only after the battleships are destroyed.

Killing the frigates/escort seem to help the NPC ships survive longer, but they seem to respawn faster than you can kill them. It seems like a waste of time and effort to do so.

Killing the Dreadnoughts seem to make a huge difference. Just losing one seemed like a tide turner.

I managed to win with four deaths this time around, but that was will a well-geared Vice-Admiral ship (if you count uncommon/rare mission reward as 'well geared'). I had no Republic NPC ships left alive at the end. I'm thinking, next time I try it, to go battleships & support/control ships first and then go straight into trying to bring down a dreadnought.

I maintain the opinion that it's too grueling a fight and that it is not working as intended. I'd also submit that the dialog strongly hint at the Republic ships defending New Romulus actually being the Flotilla itself. It shouldn't be all wiped out if you're expected to warp out and still see it in sector space.

when i played the mission when the final wave hit with 3 dreadnoughts (one of those being the command carrier) with 200,000 hull each (pluse there tough sheilds that never go down) and there support spam killed the allied reinforcements before the cut scene finished i had to kill over 20 ships with only 4 constantly repairing allied NPCs and my ship

i tried just blitzing the command ship but that was suicide i had to slowly destroy the blob of ships until i got enough gone where i could kill the command ship with my core breaches

i am all for harder content but this was just stupid ALL the allied NPCs either need to be made immortal (none of this repairing BS) or 2 of the dreadnoughts need to be removed

the second run i did i took the tier 3 mogai torp spread 3 with transphasic torpedoes and the harg'pang. this went way better still only had 4 constantly repairing allies but my ship was able to do more bleed through and kill the dreadnoughts and command ship faster

Maybe all this mission needs is for the Devs to nerf the Elachi cone of death into something more reasonable... like a third of its current damage output. If it wasn't for every Elachi ship instakilling your NPC allies at the start of the third wave, this mission would actually be pretty fun.

Oh c'mon, it's not that hard. I did it with a bunch of Mk7 Common weapons, only non-Common I had was the Rare Caustic DHC quest reward.

Shields? Mk7 Common Covariant

Engine? Mk4 Effcient

Warp Core? Mk6 Uncommon Quest Reward

Deflector? Mk7 Uncommon Positron that dropped randomly

Eng - Mk6 Uncommon Victorium, Mk4 Rare RCS, Mk7 Rare SIF Generator, all quest rewards.

Sci - Mk6 Uncommon Field Gen, Mk7 Common Emitter Array. Field Gen was a quest reward

Tac - 2 Mk6 Common +Plasma Damage, both random drops.

Tactical Captain, base D'Deridex, running it like an Escort but with 1 Plasma Mine. Would you like the BOff seating as well?

Lt Tac - Tac Team, CSV
Cmd Engi - EPtE1, RSP1, X2SIF2, Aceton Beam 3
Lt Engi - EPtS1, X2Damp1
Lt Sci - HE1, TSS1.

2 Deaths, 1 due to lag, 1 due to me being stupid and not skipping the Reinforcement cutscene

How sweet. Another naysayer whom justifies his opinions by putting those of others down.
Right, because people are literally crying over this mission being too hard, judging from the posts here, I'm putting people down...more like, telling the truth. If you are finding this mission too hard in a D'Deridex...all I can say is work on your BOff seating, Gear layout, skill tree, possibly traits.

This mission is NOT that hard
Constant exposure to the same opinions leads to continual reinforcement of ideas until eventually, any challenge, no matter what form it takes, is going to be met with a disproportionate sense of outrage. Room for reasoned discussion can no longer occur.

I re-ran it tonight to show how miserable it is to my friends kid brother.. Same mogai, same setup.. everything basically the same.. There were fewer ships this time and the feds lasted longer. In the end it boiled down to just the Kang and I against the command ship and two battleships.. The little mogai died a lot still, but it was far more interesting and fun. I'm quite certain they tweaked yhe mission somewhat but they havent neutered it at all..

Hmmmm..... that reminds me of how some of the early speculation was that the Elachi had varying mob sizes/qualities and that some people's problems were that they had more enemies to deal with than others did. I'm not sure if it's true, but it seems plausible.

I can haz joystick!
