I just finished the new KDF only Content and I must say, first impressions are VERY positive. I have to admit, even my Level 50 Character found the NEW versions of older missions to be fun and exciting, and VERY Klingon in feeling.

SOME SPOILERS AHEAD .... If you have not played (or replayed) New KDF Missions and want to experience it w/o being spoiled, stop here.

But... (of course there is a but) ... The ONE thing I found disappointing was that after running around and helping K'mtar, he dies. It was kind of a let down.

I thought we were going to help him fulfill his destiny and go back in time. This could even be done without changing much of the overall Story. Here is my suggestion: Keep everything the same until the Council Chamber scene. Then have Worf be the one who is stabbed by Torg, and allow K'mtar to help fight off the rest of the Torg warriors. Then have him lean over Worf, who will say he is dying, making K'mtar give a speech about how he wasn't good enough, etc. and then decide he will find a way to prevent it, running out of the Council Chamber to disappear. Then have your character "Attend to Worf" only to find out that he will in fact survive and have him give his speech about who K'mtar is and was and that Alexander has a Destiny to fulfill (in the past).

This could actually feed into ANOTHER mission (Secretly from Worf or maybe even from Franklin Drake), where you help K'mtar get what he needs, a 40 year old uniform (How about Worf's old one!), a ring showing him as House of Mogh gin'tak, and a D'k tagh from the house of Duras (maybe by sneaking around the Council chamber behind J'mpok's back). Then help him get a Time-ship or something, or maybe take him to the Bepii system.

P.S. On one final note, the Tournament on Forcas III should be a mandatory mission the first time through, and it should be attached to "Bringing Down the House", at the end before you leave the planet.

I hope this gets to y'all at Cryptic.

the remastering of those two missions is very impressive. I enjoyed them a lot.

The optional bat'leth tournament is fine, although it was a bit messy. you had to talk to worf in one of the rooms even though the marker showed him in the main hall and k'mtar in his place, then he disappears and reapears in the hall where he was meant to be originally.

Something I think will greatly improve the cutscenes, specially the more touching ones, would be voice-acting, If you can get Michael Dorn for Worf, then KDF will have the best mission in the game IMO. Otherwise, I agree some parts of the story leave plot holes behind (although they are bearable), but those were great missions, unlike Rom story, here you actually feel like a part of your faction.

While voice-overs would be awesome, that was not my big issue.

Basically after running around w/ K'mtar only to have him die, while saving Worf - Why is poor Alexander the galaxy's whipping boy?

Seriously, the end of "The House Always Wins" did NOT feel like a victory - EVERYONE'S HEIRS (on both sides) were dead. And what kind of Honor does Worf get by letting his Son Die in his place???

His son who is young, in the PRIME of his life, and a Diplomat at this time when the KDF can REALLY use good Diplomats, where as Worf is like 80. Ok, barring injury, Klingons live to an average of 200ish (based on DS9 episodes starring Kor, Koloth and Kang) but still ---

Is the ANY Parent out there who would consider their Child dying in their place as a Victory???
(of course I mean non-sociopathic parents)

PLEASE CRYPTIC, FIX THIS (it wont even take much, just a slight change to the ending)

Let's be honest here, both inside and outside the game, Worf is an important character, they can't just kill him, I'm not sure if CBS would even allow them to do that.

You're thinking like a human and not like a Klingon. It doesn't matter that he died, dying just means he got to go to Stovokor early.

What was important was that one who had lost his honor died in honorable combat before witnesses saving the life of his father. Worf now has a son who was an honorable warrior, not a son who was an outcast and disgrace. Thus he gained honor by his son's death.

It's still a tragedy. I agree on that bit.

I don't want them to kill Worf, but since he was warned about this moment by K'mtar, he could have been better prepared, and could have "faked" his death for a moment, to send Alexander out on his quest.

As for Klingon culture/honor, etc. I get that part, I'm well versed in lore, so it seems to me that Worf acts a bit dishonorably by letting his son die in his place, as Worf would have become aware of the situation approaching, i.e. Alexander taking the name K'mtar, he should have been ready.

A Parent should die for their child, not the other way around. But neither one needs to actually die in this particular situation.

(I know this is probably bugging me more than it should, it's a game. It's a good, no. . .FANTASTIC game, and there are other things that need Cryptic's attention right now, and this is quite a minor issue all in all, but it just bothers me)
