I agree that the Hive has some improvements but it needs to be kept as hard as it is! With the new warp cores, Feds getting the leech console, etc. things like ISE are a walk in the park. They used to be easy but still have 6+ minutes left of the optional and be finished? Hence why I like the Hive. Yeah I PUG it often but normally PUG the normal. So for those that want some hints... When you get to the two body guards - don't sit in the center as that causes both of them to agro, and only attack one - not both!. One ship sits at the front opening and another ship sits at the back opening. They set probably about 45 degrees down at about 9.8km. Everyone else attack from the outside (again not next to the queen). The two ships at the opening target regen probes and plasma torps. If you have toys launch them and set them on Attack Run. When the field is clear of regen probes and plasma torps fire at the vessel. If you can target subsystems target Weapons, Shields and Aux in that order on the vessel. If one of the ships sitting at the 45degree 9.8km get lanced or invisible torp'd one of the ships attacking from the side needs to get to that position to do the same as previously stated. Again - stay out of the center and stay well away from the other body guard. Even if the other body guard releases probes, etc. Ignore them unless the regens come and attempt to heal the one you are attacking. This method works for Normal and Elite and as long as you have TEAMWORK ! (Now there is a bug in the Hive Elite where I have seen the body guards spin on their CG - if that happens GOOD LUCK HAHA )

@vaewen - No one likes to die from a one hit blow but, if it didnt happen people would complain more that it was "too easy". Besdies the borg are ment to be tough so i dont mind the odd one hit here and there but over at spawn point is abit of a joke lol

@lorddominator - Stop giving people tips lol
1. Thats how i always play
2. Only good to a point if the plasma bolt is near a regen ship or two can be a pain! (need to drag it away)
3. Yes i do that and the tracktor beams.
4. Only use that for borg shield neutralizer really, i like shields up asap. Ofc neutrilizer has a faster cooldown -.- lol

Yeah, I do not know what they play test these missions with. My feeling is that Cryptic equates an epic mission with overwhelming opposition. This STF is a particular example of that. I have seen similar examples with the conclusion of the Dominion Featured Episode where they throw in tons of enemy ships and not even the Defiant or Enterprise-F can stay alive long enough. The defense of New Romulus is yet another example.

Weapons that one shot should be on 5 minute cool down for enemies. Serious balancing needs to be done on these epic conclusions of missions and this STF.

As far as the one hits go, in my opinion, they are not required for a challenge. I am not saying the borg need too be easy, I'm just saying that knowing for a fact that if that torpedo (or the lance, or whatever) hits, you are dead, regardless of being a cruiser, carrier, escort, whatever is not fun. Getting grabbed by a tractor beam and seeing the cutting beam destroy your hull as the shields drain and you start activating abilities to get out of there and even maybe being helped out by your team for you to live, is still hard but a lot more fun than "oh look a torpedo" BOOOM - Respawn.
But like I said, it's just an opinion.

Only thing that kills me really are one shots sorry :/

I haven't played Hive space elite after LoR was released but there are a couple of lethal things you need to know about unimatrix vessel before you engage:

-plasma bolt, instant kill but destructible... keep an eye out for those.
-torpedo spread iii, another instant kill if critical... watch for the buff and hit brace for impact
-feedback pulse iii, another instant kill if you continue to fire at the vessel with high energy spike ... having two sci who rotate their subnucleonic beam is the key to counter this.
-lance, instant kill... only defense is to move out of its 90 degree firing arc. Its range seem to be beyond 10km (unconfirmed), so as soon as you respawn, move to the side.

For me, even pre-patch I'd still get 1 shotted by the lance's sat by the Queen. I always thought it was bugged. On the other hand this is the only STF I won't run via the PUG menu it very rarely gets finished and even then it isn't worth the Normal rewards. Barely the Elite rewards most of the time.

I admit, there needs to be some challenge but this STF is nigh on impossible PUG'ed.

Well just tried a PUG Elite Hive Onslaught...

And yes its broke, i got lanced when i was between 3.5km - 4.5km (was recording at time) i love the fact that one the guys said 3x "Shoot the probes!" like they were the problem not the one shot of the lance he was the first to quit.
