# 1 Your HUD is making me ill.

I'm not asking to go back but either changes with the color/contrast need to happen on Cryptic's end or give us the option to change them. I'm not talking about the "color schemes". Those are fine and nice.

it's something with either the contrast/brightness mixed with the new graphics overhall that, after about 30 mins, is physically making me feel sick and gives me a headache. I've run across a lot of players discussing this in-game.

No one can quite put their finger on it or do anything with the setting in-game or on their display but common words used are "too bright", "seems to flicker" or "gamma is messed up".

I have actually seen a few games have this issue and usually can be corrected with some sort of slider function for the HUD.

Cryptic needs to give this a serious look. This isn't me hating on the HUD or STO at all. Love it and LoR but something like this is almost a literal game-changer for me personally.

The problem is most noticeable for me when I'm doing Doff missions. The green for the right traits are *blinding* to the point that you can barely read them. In fact, everything seems harder to read and the only things that seems to have affected that is the colors in relation to each other and how some are crazy bright while others are so subdued compared to the HUD that simply trying to read stuff makes my eyes hurt.

I like STO. I like buying some stuff they make. I *don't* like feeling sick when for 3 years that hasn't once been a problem.

Thanks. That is all.

i just wish they would add a 'transparency' option, it would be easier on the eyes.

Also, you might want to recalibrate your monitor, turn down brightness, vibrancy, etc. You did mention though never having a problem in 3 years so this suggestion might be moot.

I couldnt agree more on the color contrasts, and the invidual color differences on abilities Yellow/Red/Blue is just disgusting, not even talking about the army green hull color on the HUD :C

The UI is fine by itself, but I woulve like to see some option to disable the Color coding of abilities, etcetera.

Also the Red alert thingy should be optional for all Color schemes. I hope they really see that alot of players are having a bad taste of all this

Yeah, I wanted to be clear: not having any complaint about the HUD as a design in itself. I don't love it but the issue for me seems to be areas where the color combinations make things indistinguishable, like the Doff screen where there's like a fluorescent green and it highlights yellow. With the surrounded, duller tones it's like it pierces my eyeballs.

Another area is the blues used for pc/npc names in contrast to certain backgrounds. There were already plenty of bright areas in the game prior to Nimbus III but that's a place I notice getting queasy.

I've tried adjusting everything from Nvidia refresh rates to contrast/brightness of my monitor but something is most assuredly going on because this isn't just me as I've said. Whether more of those players come to the forums to let Cryptic know, though, is anyone's guess.
