DD is first and foremost a Cruiser. Stop trying to use it like an Escort. If you have ever used Cruisers you will notice that it is screaming out for an Aux2Bat build.

All the people saying it's fine, could you put up with some actual log parses or other concrete evidence of your claims? Otherwise it's just hot air coming out of you lot defending this beached whale.
The end game PvE demands pewpew. it is what it is designed around, if a ship can't superbly fill that function, then it is irrelevant outside of personal preference.

I don't see a problem with it, I'm using it as a beamboat and it's pretty effective, and can hold it's own in ESTF's whilst being a healboat at the same time.


Then again, I have totally no interest in the d**k measuring competition that is PvP.



Not to mention it is sodding huge. Why the hell do you guys think it should be an escort?

Just because it turns a little slow that means its a pointless ship? There are so many things in game that improve turnrate including a trait now, not to mention they have given a little buff to those abilities when it comes to larger ships.

I've been flying a D'ridthau with dual cannons and I'm just using a single mk viii blue rcs console and I get along fine even with all those annoying little gnats subspace jumping around me.

I haven't even gotten to the Retrofit yet which has probably the nicest boff seating of any battlecruiser and has teeth contrary to what some people think just because it has a slow turn rate.

It's fine in PvE, but then again you can succeed with every ship in this game in PvE because it's so damn easy. Turnrate only matters in PvP and therefore the D'Deridex is pretty much an epic fail for it. I have made some tests with it and even with 4 RCS consoles and 100 power to engines (due to Plasmonic Leech and Aux2Bat) and 9 Skillpoints in all categories which buff speed and turnrate this ship reaches just ~14 whereas Klingon battlecruisers which feature basically the same layout (minus the LtC Science) easily reach 30. Just for the record, the average escort has 40-50 turnrate in PvP without RCS. Good luck with the D'Deridex. You can either slot beams which barely do any damage in PvP or field cannons, though you will barely get a chance to fire them.

This enormous fixation on turn rate stems from the DHC issue - Dual Heavy Cannons do so much damage when compared to all other weapons that anything but them is deemed useless.

Maybe the devs will fix the DHC issue, and then, things will not be as one-dimensional on the forums any more, and a ship that is not a Jem'Hadar Attack Ship will be accepted.
