I have made some tests with it and even with 4 RCS consoles and 100 power to engines (due to Plasmonic Leech and Aux2Bat) and 9 Skillpoints in all categories which buff speed and turnrate this ship reaches just ~14 whereas Klingon battlecruisers which feature basically the same layout (minus the LtC Science) easily reach 30. Just for the record, the average escort has 40-50 turnrate in PvP without RCS. Good luck with the D'Deridex. You can either slot beams which barely do any damage in PvP or field cannons, though you will barely get a chance to fire them.
Then tell me how I can get my D'ridthau up to a turn rate of 10.1 with one mk viii rcs console only 6 points in impulse thrusters and 3 points in engine power...while my engine power was averaged out to a whopping 63?

Its not so much that the D'Deridex sucks its that as said before the other factions dont FORCE players into a Cruiser cuz thats what it is. Every faction for the first 20-30 levels we are given hybrid ships, that arent escorts/science or cruisers. Then you hit level 30 as Romulan/Reman and BAMM ZING your told by Cryptic "STFU and get in the Cruiser or pay us!". Really??

What Romulan Faction needs is escort and science ships (1 of each per tier) for 30 and 40. I have huge problems with lvl40 Escort equiv and its massive size, power slides..but atleast I can gimp my way through to 50 with it but with D'Deridex I'd rather give up on sweet Romulan ships and use C-Store Defiant I baught for my Tac Fed.

I've configured it the same way and it seems reasonably effective. However, it is a serious tub of lard and far less nimble than the canon vessels as seen in the shows.

Seconded. STO pvp is still mechanically beyond unappealing. It seems that both the provider and the wallet warriors are content with the min/max, pay-to-be-competitive and tech-over-tactics madness. Unless my fleet needs a fill in, I won't even touch that mess anymore.

I don't like slow turning ships so I used a Klingon (ally) C-Store ship instead of using the D'Deridex. Sure it is probably better then a Galaxy class that I used in the past and I hated flying that ship but I just don't really plan on flying a low turn rate ship again. They just are not fun for me taking so much longer to get from place to place.

Making someone go from flying ships with good turn rate and tactically based to bad turn rate and more Engineering focused sucks so either get a ally C-Store ship or stick with the tier 3 Mogai.

Its only 10 levels which go by quick enough, not like half your career you are flying a escort then the other half they're forcing you to fly a cruiser.

Way I see it, you get a chance to try nearly all the Romulan ships at the "growing" levels. So you can test and see which is for you. Then when it comes time for Lv50 you usually have a good idea what you getting on the higher level version. Granted it might be bad for some players, but others will love and excel with the D bird. So its only for 10 levels so it won't kill you. If not use the lower level ship for those levels and skip. I remember doing that with my KDF using the D7 / K'Tinga ship. I ran that ship way into the levels. Due to how much I loved that class. So I didn't use the Vor'cha as much.

If you don't like it, don't get it and use it. There is plenty of other ships on the game to pick and choose for your enjoyment.

I personally liked my D'Dedirex. She has muscle enough to take a hit, with just enough firepower to keep things even with the other PvE related missions. The 'trick' is to treat her as she was intended, not as an escort. Where as the mogai acted as the cross between escort and cruiser, the D'Dedirex is all cruiser. Play by its rules, instead of trying to make it something its nought.

True your only flying it for a short time but I still don't want to fly it at all after how much I disliked flying a Galaxy in addition I already have C-Store ships unlocked from my ally choice.

This thread reminds me all of the threads about the Galaxy's similar turn rate post original launch.

I suggest that Vet players just help new players understand the system, and learn to use slower Tank Ships.

"Elitist" comments l2p, get out of game etc etc, are really not required.

I for one am happy to see a influx of players with LoR.

With my free L30 D'deridex I managed to beat Defense of New Romulus on my first try, without resorting to repeated suicide runs or teaming up with other players.
