# 1 Borg Spheres and EptE in STFs

Seriously, the EptX changes to 30s are awesome for players but hell, the Borg Spheres have gotten annoying...

I had 3 runs now where the dear Spheres scattered across the map, making us fail the optional every time. One time a Sphere managed to fly out of the map are somehow. I wonder if STFs should be renamed into "Catch the Sphere". Even Tractor Beam does not work at all to fixate them. They simply fly on after sitting 3s on the Tractor Beam.

Please remove or alter the power list of Spheres. It really is no fun at all chasing those damn balls. I want to fight at a challenge and by challenge I mean a Borg challenge and not a "Tag-you-it's-your-turn" game.

the speed doesnt bother me, my main is an escort. what bothers me is when they bug out and get stuck in the gaps of the gateway. you cant hit them and they cant move.

the best you can do is nose into them and burn your engines while wiggling hoping a cannon shot aggros them to come out

The devs need to give them a repulsion attribute AWAY from the gateway

i do kinda like how the right side ones in infected hide behind big daddy tac cube though. they got smart.

Everything is OP, plz nerf

No, it isn't. The fact that players now have to think about more than pew pew in what are the "hardest missions ingame" is far from a bad thing.

ESTFs having a modicum of difficulty beyond one-shots is far from a bad thing.

I came up with a simple solution to the problem. I fly an Intrepid so when the spheres spawn I hit them with Gravity Well III. The ten spheres then hit me with Tachyon Beams to which I respond with the console Ablative Armor rendering thier attack pointless. Note** all ten spheres and the gate are focused on me and not my team. While doing this I use my console Theta Radiation to hold them in place. I unleash torpedo attacks and hit them with a Tychen's Rift II [drains thier power especially with plasmonic leech]. Then I drop them a little present from a Isometeric charge. By this time my teammates have dispatched the transformers and are joining me in obliterating the spheres. If you get a runner use the derutium along with evasive manuvers to run him down or fire a Breen Cluster Bomb it will track down and destroy said sphere.

Spheres dont bother me, sure its annoying watching tehm speed off, but they come back for more =P

they are much better now, pls dont change anything..

anythings better than just having them clumb up and scatter volley away and thats it

seemingly smarter npc's is always an improvement.

only time EptE isnt working is on those gorn cruisers that combo it with EWP.
devs might want to give those ships aux to dampers instead
Figure out and address the players path of least resistance to reward. this one thing is THE consistent factor undermining all your efforts. be that crafting, raids or starbase projects.

Are we sure its the Borg using EPtX and not something else?

I've seen them acting like hyper gerbils before and it was always when the server was a bit laggy, also had the cube at the end of Infected Space -Elite chase me around the map on full impulse some of those times too which was just too funny . Yesterday, I was running Khitomer in Stasis - Elite for the 1st time on my new KDF-Reman and the borg were sprinting (not a fast walk, but actually using the sprinting animation) and they seemed to have instant aggro on all players with your standard STF ground weapons seemed to bounce off the shielded drones (tactical, heavy tacs, and elite tac drones were 1-shotting everyone). I admit it is kinda interesting but annoying for the 2-3 ppl that joined got killed 3-4 times then they bailed.

so is it really eptx powers or just lag? everytime there is lag in game KAGE is severly effected for some reason.

I think it is a combination of Dev overzealousness to try to slow players down so they give Borg new powers. The problem we as players have is server instability that creates the dreaded LAG. So basically they double down on death to all players...

Lag may factor into it but but in general there are very few enemy-only abilities so when a player ability gets a buff, the enemies that use it get to call on the buffed ability.

Spheres are more annoying now but are actually somewhat less dangerous because they'll happily circle out to beyond 10km rather than stick around and shoot whoever they're targeting more.

Overall it's a positive change, though I do see room for improvement, mainly a slight buff/nerf to the way Grav Well/Tractor Beam and EptE works, simply to restore it's effectiveness.
