Spheres are more annoying now but are actually somewhat less dangerous because they'll happily circle out to beyond 10km rather than stick around and shoot whoever they're targeting more.

Overall it's a positive change, though I do see room for improvement, mainly a slight buff/nerf to the way Grav Well/Tractor Beam and EptE works, simply to restore it's effectiveness.
The main issue with this is that it leaves the cruisers and carriers hanging out in the dust while the escorts and science vessels go chase spheres. Partly, it requires a change in tactics: if you can turn, chase spheres; if you can't, hit the gate/tac cube. Carriers are a bit better off as they can also send pets after the spheres.

Control or power drain pets can also help catch the Spheres, such as:
---Danube Runabouts
---Yellowstone Runabouts
---Orion Interceptors
---Power Siphon Drones
and to a lesser degree:
---Fer'Jai Firgates w/ Chronitons and Tricobalts
---Tholian Mesh Weavers w/Thermionics

I have to say, my Klingon Science captain uses a carrier; trying to catch the spheres is a pain in the aft, but you can still send pets and use support abilities and healing on your allies that are still in range. Gravity Well is less effective on the spheres than it was before, but it remains a useful tool to at least slow them down. I wouldn't want to be flying a cruiser that was not equipped with an RCS Accelerator and cycling EP2E, though...

Another trick, for a one-off boost, is to use the Romulan Rep capstone right before deploying Gravity Well; the +100 to all Science skills does seem to provide a little help. I have to admit, though, Gravity Well could use a bit more pull than it has at this point.

I had 3 runs now where the dear Spheres scattered across the map, making us fail the optional every time. One time a Sphere managed to fly out of the map are somehow. I wonder if STFs should be renamed into "Catch the Sphere". Even Tractor Beam does not work at all to fixate them. They simply fly on after sitting 3s on the Tractor Beam.

Please remove or alter the power list of Spheres. It really is no fun at all chasing those damn balls. I want to fight at a challenge and by challenge I mean a Borg challenge and not a "Tag-you-it's-your-turn" game.

Simply said: It is too much .

Agreed. The spheres should have EPTE removed from their abilities . They just fly away and you have to chase them for long time.

Maybe that should be a new mission? SPhere tagging... tag them and get a sphere pet that you can turn in for omega marks?
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

I am on record as being a fan of NPCs with the new EPtE, even as a cruiser captain. Gosh, ships that don't just sit in a neat little bundle while you mechanically cut them down and try not to fall asleep, what a thought!

ESTFs having a modicum of difficulty beyond one-shots is far from a bad thing.
Best thing I've heard someone say for a long time... I like this guy

And this player too

Maybe there's some challenge in the game again instead of mindless pew pew which 5yo's can do...

I dont think this is a challange... for that they should get emergency to shields or weapons. This is an annoyance.

This sounds like it's doing exactly the opposite: it's making alternatives to the mindless escort pew pew even less useful than they already were. This means that if you're not in a quick moving high-DPS escort you can't do anything significant at all. That's exactly what this game doesn't need.

EPtS wouldn't last and EPtW would make them hurt way more than they need to, especially on elite.

Actually it spreads the Spheres out so that Scatter Volley isn't as much of the 'I Win' button as it was before, so that escorts have to chase down targets with rapid fire. That's more effort than the 'sit there cycling your ability macro' that existed previously and is making my Ha'Feh a lot more fun to fly.

This also makes it so that spheres live longer (even if they get stuck/fly out of 10km range) and give them the ability to do more damage, but in a way that doesn't make them more dangerous than they already are.

Plus they'll come back. I've found it interesting in my Excelsior in ISE to gauge best use of FaW to hit what I want to hit and let my targets come back to me for once.

Note** all ten spheres and the gate are focused on me and not my team. While doing this I use my console Theta Radiation to hold them in place. I unleash torpedo attacks and hit them with a Tychen's Rift II [drains thier power especially with plasmonic leech]. Then I drop them a little present from a Isometeric charge. By this time my teammates have dispatched the transformers and are joining me in obliterating the spheres. If you get a runner use the derutium along with evasive manuvers to run him down or fire a Breen Cluster Bomb it will track down and destroy said sphere.
Gravity Well is worthless now.

The real problem is that borg have their resist to effects super-boosted to absolutely idiotic levels.

You cant drain them. You cant subsystem disable them. You can barely tractor them.

If the NPCs had those super-resists removed then the players could at least combat their absurdly overpowered abilities.

But they don't. This game is all about brute, dumb dps. Science is dead.
