This is also below minimum system requirements. It's only a single core.;

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 Ghz or AMD Athlon X2 3800+

Even with a graphics card upgrade, you may not be able to play the game.

To the OP
Stop being cheap a 7600 card is 4 years old!
You can buy a newer card for less than $99 dollars at newegg or tigerdirect.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130530

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...516&CatId=3670

Either one of the two links I posted will run STO. They are not top of the line cards now but they will at least let you run the game on medium specs.
And if you can upgrade your current cpu you can find some good deals at the same websites also.
laters.

Ya, all that website does is to try to read info on your computer and compare it with the info listed as minimum/recommended requirements. It says I can't play STO on this laptop due to the CPU and video card. However, the CPU on this laptop does meet the minimum requirements, the text comparison the site can't parse for some reason. I was able to get it to work, though.

Anyways, before you upgrade your video card you should make sure what kind your motherboard can handle. I have the same CPU as you do on one of my computers and the motherboard can only handle AGP. It's possible yours can handle PCI-Express, but it would be best to double check.

edit to add:
I re-read your DXDIAG report.... Chip type: RADEON 9250 AGP (0x5960)
...so, most likely AGP

Have the same problem myself, installed the lastest drivers (geforce fx5500 256mb) and get the same error message. I hope I fair better with the retail game I have on order. Trying to enjoy the Beta is a loss cause.
