For PvE, you would be well-advised to just stick with a DPS + tanking build.

Get cannon rapidfire abilities to start with, and scatter volley as you rise in rank and have ships with more boff options. Put on Attack Pattern Beta, as well, the debuff is epic.

Stock up on EPtS, TSS, Aux2SIF, HE, and Tactical Team for a nice all-around tanking setup. You'll be squishy anyways because it's a BoP. . .but that's why you can pick and choose your fights with the battlecloak.

I'd recommend picking tactical or engineering careers. . .unless you want the debuff ability that science captains have.

When you reach STF rank, you'd be advised to throw in one or two crowd-control abilities in for use in STFs. Warp Plasma and Tractor Beams work well.

I levelled several characters with BoP only. I put an engineer with EWP in the highest Boff slot. Also, if possible I set up a doff which gives the immobilize effect on EWP.

I decloak near my target hit EWP, evasive manoeuvres, if necessary Pol Hull to get rid of tractor beam. lay a cloud of warp plasma round my target fly away, turn and open fire. Mines, torpedoes everything. It worked so good I am going to do it again with my new KDF characters.

Your build. To use the versatility of this ship, I should go for a general build. You are going to do damage with energy weapons, projectiles, using exotic damage, perhaps you want to have some crowd control. I put six in almost everything. Nothing in batteries, might be different with the new trait, nothing in threat control, 3 in cloaking. In the last tier I would put 3 in energy weapons, 3 in projectile, if something is left, 3 in Aux.

BOPs all the way ^-^

Two TAC boffs, one ENG and one SCI.

TT1 x 2, CSV1, CRF1, TS3, THY3, APO3

EPtS1, RSP1

HE1, TSS2

There's a Fleet BOP that has two Lt. Cmdr stations instead of just one. So... imagine a GW1/TKR2 or Aux2SIF2 or even BO3... The GW1 will be a good choice since you're an ENG after all. You don't need EPtW with Nadeon and EPS, Miracle Worker can replace Aux2SIF.

Easiest way to level, ever. Also, you'd be best to start with beam boff abilities, not cannons as a previous poster suggested - since cannon abilities start at boff slot rank 2, which is hard to do at early levels. Move into cannons later.

The BoP is a perfect ship.

Yeah, not exactly a challenge.

Remember to work with your power-levels, and hotkey your cloak (I use the "0" on my tray/number pad). Running all-bird of prey is pretty nifty, it's a lot of fun, to be honest, and very enjoyable-you can actually take a few moments to LOOK at the art in the maps while running cloaked instead of just furiously focusing on the next thing that's intent on attacking you.

If you're new to BoPs, remember it's a "Pilot's bird"-that is, you're running a ship in the Bird of Prey that has less of everything, so develop your 'decloaking alpha' as much as you can.

The tactic is 'stick and move', never sit still use your turn rate and speed as far and as hard as you can, and don't waste time de-cloaked, or you'll be respawning a LOT.

I can fly Escorts, but I've never taken the time to master the Bird of Prey, this is that opportunity.

Sometimes I actually start to feel bad in my Fleet Norgh in PvP... First of all, with the Ning'tao skin you look like a monster bad ass... Secondly, an extra Lt. Cmdr. universal boff slot is just silly...

They're just amazing ships, if you can master cloaking/decloaking, they are monsters...

For some reason, I find the STANDARD Norgh skin more attractive than the Ning'tao skin. It's just...cleaner as a design, but I have to agree, the Fleet Norgh's a fun ride that you can get some really GREAT results with both in PvP and PvE.
