Sheesh. Warp Cores just came out. Give it time. Not like having a specialized core, is that game breaking, at this point. Be patient, there will be new options eventually.

Engineering duty officer assignment, Experimental Warp Core Upgrade = Free warp cores. Just queue it up, go to sleep, and unpack your present in the morning.
Thank you for this info, I was wondering how you could get better and drop cores from game been searching the mission and such trying to figure this out.

I don't think so, but it only shows if you directly talk to your Engineer. And it's a random chance to appear, depending on what sector you're in at the time.

Though I am having a weird problem. My Fed captain is getting the mission, but it's wanting two Engineering Matter-Antimatter specialists... and two Science Matter-Antimatter specialists. I've yet to find any of the latter, so I keep turning out crummy Mark X greens. x.x

My KDF has had much better luck. I'll have to see if his mission has the same issue. My Romulans work great, but given they're only in the 15-26 level range, the best I'm getting are purple Mark VI ones.

thats basically the worst thing you can do with your dilithium...not only does it have low warp capacity, it also has very low stats. a green mk xi or mk x would have been smarter in that case.

but hey, it's your dilithium, you can waste it on whatever you want.
