Hey, all,

I've had the worst rubberbanding issues in the game recently and I have /no/ idea why. I never had any issue with lag or rubberbanding before, but now it's almost made the game unplayable. I was quite literally, Tuesday I logged off and everything was fine, Wednesday, I logged on and everything was crazy.

I referenced this one Twitter and was directed to a thread that was largely greek to me, but I followed the instructions and here is what I came up with;

What the hell is going on? Why did this start happening, and how do I fix it? My start up options don't have a proxy selected, and there's been absolutely no change to my setup that should have caused a problem.

So have you tried using the Proxy setting to see if this effects your situation?

I've been getting horrible lag and occasional disconnects (for "unknown reason") as well ever since that date. My assumption was that it's just due to the server not holding its own very well, due to an influx of people due to the summer event, Independence Day for the Americans and because it's a weekend.

Everything was fine before this weekend, now it's all gone to s***. It doesn't seem to be anything on my end, as any other online game has zero problems. Though an infinite ping is showing time outs sometimes quite a lot (varies).

Computer/modem reboot failed to solve anything.

Trying that now, set through the US first off (I'm in Australia).

Its not the STO Servers, as response from the Silicon Valley is a crisp as its ever been this Saturday, without the slightest trace of lag or rubber-banding...

There may be nothing wrong on your end, but most likely there is something wrong with your ISP, or the backbone service that your ISP chooses to use.

Is there a way to tell if this is the case? And anything that I can do about it?

The 'Trace Route' and 'Net Test' utilities can offer clues on what the problem is. But neither test is good for detecting 'dropped packets' (which is what the OP seems to be suffering from..)

The problem is, there is nothing you can do to correct the problem, as these issues can only be addressed by your ISP (by their peer relationships and route priorities). This is the reason why you should contact them, (and be persistent...) as they have better tools to diagnose the issue...

# 7 Weekend issue
07-07-2013, 11:26 AM
Its interesting to see that I am not the only one with this serious issue with STO. It really did start yesterday and I must have been kicked off the server several times with in just a couple of hours. Today has gotten worse, now I can't even play the game. I am not sure what the problem is but I do know that it started this weekend. It may not be STO at all. It could be because the weekend here, "being the weekend of the 4th", is why we are having all these unplayable issues with the game. A lot of people could be using up all the bandwidth form our cable provider and when everyone goes back to work tomorrow, the game will be back to normal...

CSE is impossible to play as many people are finding it hard to play because of the serious lag....it's ridiculous!
