"Stand by Tractor Beam Mr. Allison" Commander Karl Robertson intoned calmly yet with a hint of an edge to his voice. He rarely had to commit to a project in this manner.
Commander Robertson'e steel gray eyes remained fixed on the tug's small worn viewscreen. The powerful blueish hue of the tractor beam swept across the once gleeming white metal surface of a damaged hull. Once bright lights now snuffed dark as the crippled hulk of a constitution class ship was angled towards its final resting place. A spot reserved for those fallen but yet who's service was not yet over.
Some part of Robertson hated the mothball fleet, it was as if he was giving up on those who had given everything for Starfleet. He often felt as if he was hiding his own mistakes behind the curtains. Even so if this had to be done, the engineer felt it should be done with some respect and decency for a ship that had thrown itself in the line of fire to save its crew.
"That is it Mr. Allison.....just a little kiss for the lady" Robertson said as he leaned over his aid's console as the tug USS Handleman pushed the El Dorado into its new berth.
"Aye sir....target back 3.5" Chief Allison delicately worked the controls as the decomissioned ship was eased into place.
How sad, Robertson thought. The El Dorado had held its place at Talaton, even taking more than its fair share of a pounding as Captain Fergenson evacuated her crew to safety and all we can reward her with is to lie in state amongst the 'junk fleet'.
"You held the line girl....so that they might live" He muttered louder than he had intented.
"Sir?" Chief Allison looked up over his shoulder.
Robertson smiled and placed his hand on his old friend's shoulder "Mind your panel Mr. Allison....let's put her to bed gently"
Allison nodded and punched in the final command "On you mark sir"
Robertson sighed and nodded "lock her in place Mr. Jameson" He called over to his operations officer.
"Berth tractors activated....we have her"
"All right Helm back us off..back one quarter"
"Aye sir ..back one quarter"
An unspoken moment of silence desended on the small bridge as the ship backed away from the wounded sleeping ship. Robertson shook his head, the nagging feeling of wanting to do something, anything still tore at the engineer's heart. He was one not to want to give up. He reached up and unsnaper the buckle holding his maroon uniform jacket, allowing its flap to fall down a little as he rose up. He found himself whispering a gentle promise to the fallen lady...
" A ray of hope there still may be in this, the gift I give to thee. Not in death, but just in sleep, this fateful prophecy you'll keep. And from this slumber you shall wake, when true love's kiss, the spell shall break."
"Sir?" Chief Allison said from his console.
"A promise I hope that can someday be kept to her" Robertson allowed himself one more sigh and then drew himself back to reality. "All right Chief...lets get back to work...Helm set course for the main hub and alert base that the El Dorado is secure.
"Aye Aye sir"
Spinning on her axis the shipyard tug throttled forward and headed off to its next assignment, leaving the slumbering slip in its darkened peace.
Nyoko walked down the halls of the Ayanami while it’s crew rushed about there duties. The ship had seen combat and it’s crew exhausted from combat fatigue continued to push threw the long hours to restore main power. Many of the faces no older then 20 years of age many of them freshly enlisted, or newly graduated officers. All held grim look as the amount of work that needed to get done was no joke at all.
She turned the bend to see wounded still littered in the halls. A medical ensign knelling next applying treatment for plasma burns. As she passed she simply reached out to touch the crewmen who’s face was half burned on the shoulder. Such attention lifted speirts and with silent nod she continued on.
Then there was an area where bulk head had came down to pin a women crewmember. Nyoko stopped a moment to watch the events unfold. She couldn’t determine who she was exactly but the crew she was assigned to were working together to free her. Together four of them threw there strength together to lift the heavy piece of metal up just enough for her to crawl free and she did. Once freed the medical personnel moved quickly to treat her and the act stirred pride in Nyoko’s heart.
Turbo lifts had been taken off line and Nyoko had to use ladder wells to get between decks. She didn’t mind it, though but with all excess heat and environmental systems on secondary power. It was hot and stuffy. At one point she even zipped down her uniform vest and tied its slaves around her waist into a bow knot. This exposed her shoulders and belly as she wore her white sleeveless undershirt. Along with a pair of wedding rings looped together on a balled chained necklace. Then with an alastic that dangled around her hand she pulled her hair back to tie it up. Then she continued on.
The came to engineering where most of the power problems where being handled, the sight wasn’t so bad as she had anticipated. Engineering crew had no injures and they were all busy at work restoring power levels and rerouting systems threw other pathways. She looked upward at the three story antimatter core. To her left was a young ensign newly added to the crew working under the EPS unit.
In a heap of frustration he threw his tool to the ground and damned the device to hell. Muttering to himself in almost cretin defeat an absorbed in frustration he failed to see his ship’s captain standing next to him. The sight made Nyoko frown slightly though her years of experience made her frowning lips slip to a natural feature.
She approached the Ensign. Her strides filled with confidence and for those who took notice sexy. All the engineering crew saw the captain of the Ayanami as hot babe. While Nyoko moved to approach the defeated ensign all the others including the chief certainly took notice of her petite back side. Once standing before the ensign it took him moment to realize who it was. She could have been anyone truth be told with her uniform’s top tied around her waist her four golden pips were no were to be seen.
Then it dawed on the ensign who this asian women was. As if he had come to say in his mind, hey wait a minute the captain of this ship is Asian women! Then he snapped to attention and held that straight positure looking straight ahead.
“Ma’am!” he said with surprise.
Nyoko simply regarded the face that was no at attention. He was young, real young. No older then 20 years old and fresh out of the academy. Nyoko simply nodded and her head tilted slightly.
“Problem Ensign?” She asked in a neutral tone.
“Are you sure?”
He caved in to Captain he caved in. “The parts are old ma’am, certainly two generations behind from what I am used to working with,” He explained.
Nyoko simply nodded. This techie head was going to get lesson today. She bent down into a crouch picking up the tool. Then with a sympatric facial expression she told him to at ease. He did so.
“There’s a lesson that isn’t taught in Starfleet Academy that all ensigns must figure out for them selves Mr Ernesto,” Nyoko began
Then after short pause to let the engineer consider what she was saying. Then she continued, “Of course the circuts are old, the ship has likely been refitted five times but that’s not what’s important.” Nyoko said cleverly as she alluded to an over all thesis
“Do you know what’s important when it comes to Starships Ensign?” She asked.
“I may not ma’am,” The young man responded.
“Love, point in fact.” Nyoko said in a very simply as it was as sure as any fact. Then after a moment she continued, “You can study all the technical manuals in the universe ensign, but take ship into the void that you don’t love-”
She held for climatic pauses. “She’ll shrug you off just as sure as that blond bimbo at the forty nine will.” She completed her thought.
The ensign simply listened to Nyoko’s wisdom. Then she spoke again, “love keeps her flying when it should be crashing, it tells you when she’s about to keel over.” Nyoko explained.
The ensign perhaps still too young to really understand her wisdom full simply nodded. Then as she stood up she offered it back to him. As he took it she followed the action with a smile. Then she nodded.
“Carry on Mister,” She ordered and continued her walk through.
The storyline of the 22nd Mobile Daedalus is an on going story of several ships and their crews career development in Starfleet. Candidate join the fleet by requesting a character to play and the skills they wish to bring to the starship group. Games are conducted much like a SIM or DND Game where a Game Master interacts with players as the universe. Characters will develop relationships, and over come challenges much like an typical episode from Star Trek as you will explore strange new worlds, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
Each ship meets one night a week for role playing so commitment to the fleet is roughly 3-4 hours a week. There are many other types of events that occur and there is a huge PVE membership. So getting help with the game is very easy when join the fleet.
We are currently featuring our own Fleetbase, Starbase 220 - Under the command of Rear Admiral Brian Donaldson and Rear Admiral Miranda Kavalek! This has become a hub for role playing between episodes. Allowing for more socializing in character. We have done such with places like Earth Space Dock, Risa, but now we have centralized private instance for the fleet community.

Along with that is our thread for character transfer requests! There is a thread to explain the process in which to join the 22nd's rp! Its not as daunting as it looks, we are pretty fun bunch! Any questions that you might have will be readily answered by the DGM Leadership of the fleet and we can walk you through the process if you get stuck!
Transfer Requests to the 22nd Mobile Fleet Daedalus Linkie! :
We have some updated notices to announce, number one being our newest ship, the USS Pilgrim is still looking for some new folks. All ships are looking for some people to help fil out their ranks!
So come take a look and see what time and ship best fits you!!
All ships in the 22nd Mobile Fleet have excellent rpers aboard and are looking to fill some key roles in their department head positions. So feel free to sign up and have some fun exploring and keeping the Federation safe!
Lastly. The Mobile Daedalus is looking for creative story makers that would like to help out our GM Team to create story lines for the ships to role play through. The task is challenging as this requires a balance of IC and OOC knowledge. Though the rewards for such is that you'll be conducting a storyline you wish to be seen played out by characters, and made cannon to the Daedalus Role Playing Group. As such we are always in need of a Good Game Master. So please let us know if this is somthing you would enjoy doing
"So many things have happened today, where to start... I was at my station like normal when Commander Asada received a distress call, the USS Trebuchet was requesting help so we of course headed toward them at high warp, I ran some scans and found out that they were being chased by a Romulan ship." Explained Xemion with an exhausted look.
"Once we arrived at the HC-19 system which had a Federation Agra-Colony, we found the USS Trebuchet and another Romulan Raptor in orbit, except one thing was missing; the first Romulan ship, and so when we were hailed by a desperate colonist the signal was jammed, when we tried the Trebuchet the signal was jammed again? But we were able to contact the Romulan Raptor which raised suspicion in the crew, but the Commander of the Romulan Raptor was as clueless as we were at the time? She claimed to have been searching for the Romulan ship that was chasing the Trebuchet, the Romulan ship that was nowhere to be found? So I did some scans and the Captain sent an away team consisting of Mr. Winterhagen and Lieutenant Commander Murai." Continued Xemion.
Said in a completely serious way, Xemion sips some green tea before continuing.
"Though the away teams mission produced no information, my scans were quite informative. We learned that subspace weaponry was being used, that is what destroyed the Romulan vessel that was chasing the Trebuchet? An evil crime? Leading the Romulans like a swine to the slaughter? Soon there was a tricobalt explosion on the planet near what I deduced to be the location of the jamming signal and the location of the secret base." Explained Xemion with distaste in his voice.
Ruining the tense atmosphere Xemion takes a sip of tea, holds it in his hands, then continues.
"A few minutes after the explosion there was a cloud of? Something? That lowered the temperature by five degrees? But more importantly killed the nine thousand colonists?" Said Xemion as his voice lowered to almost a whisper.
Xemion bows his head in silence for a bit then continues
"The cloud quickly swept over the planet? Then Lieutenant Commander Murai stole a shuttle and landed on the planet? During which I was telepathically assaulted by the cloud? I warned the Captain and made a telepathic connection to Lieutenant Commander Murai which allowed Lieutenant Commander Asada and I to find her a route back to the stolen shuttle. The telepathic entity took over my mind and all I could feel was a cold, sadness? I could feel Death itself? As I stared into the eyes of the Devil himself?" Said Xemion with a vacant stare.
Xemion takes a minute to compose himself as a tear forms in his eye but quickly taken care of.
"We Xethrillians have no concept of the Devil but we do fear what he represents? I quickly forced him out of my mind and regained my sanity for the most part? According to Lieutenant Walker, Ensign Sh'Avana, and Lieutenant Commander Asada I started referring to the cloud as ?He? or ?Him?? Thus I went to sickbay to be sedated, Lieutenant Commander Murai returned to the ship and the Captain talked with her? Lieutenant Commander Murai later joined me in sickbay as the Ensign Sh'Avana and Lieutenant Walker decide to take matters into their own hands and enter the cloud to attempt to save the already dead colonists? When we entered the cloud I was thrown into a coma like state and could not tell the Captain to leave while we still could? I imagine the Captain was upset when she arrived the bridge and found that her officers were acting without orders, when we exited the cloud I regained consciousness and after convincing the Doctor I would be ok, I returned to the bridge. Upon arriving, the Captain relieved Lieutenant Walker, Ensign Sh'Avana, and Lieutenant Commander Murai of duty until further notice? We sail on a small ship with little crew, but it was of course up to the Captain to decide. She placed Commander Asada in charge and left to go perform a Trill ritual." Said Xemion in a now unreadable tone.
"With the exchange of a few quotes between Commander Asada and myself that ended that mission. I believe it is appropriate to end this log by remembering not only the lost Federation colonists but the Romulans as well? Jolan Tru." Said Xemion before he got back to work.
