Whats the point of a cloak, well..

The point is for both teams to sit cloaked, use EptA and fight each others bare and naked hull ofcourse.

Finally torps have become useful again.

I don't run this build, but I was sitting here kind of bored and it came to me.

Snoop'varo, eh? So this is Warbird(Raider) Snooper? Romulan EBC Snooper, eh?

Some of the things will be obvious about the build while others not so much. My main interest in it is the Snooping Angle. So how about we look at that, k?

Let's say start with Starship Sensors:
99 (9 Starship Sensors)
11 (Tachyon Detection Field)
20 (Tachyon Detection Field - 30s)
19 (Ionized Gas Sensor)
95.7 (3x Embassy Sensors Mk XII)
Total = 244.7

Let's then move on to Stealth Detection Rating:
367.05 (244.7 Starship Sensors)
50 (125 Aux (non-Sci))
250 (Tachyon Detection Field - 30s)
150 (Jem'Hadar Deflector Mk XI)
861.75 (+8.6175% Sensor Scan w/ TDF Active)
Total = 1678.8

Let's wrap up with Perception/StealthSight:
5000 (Base)
839.4 (Stealth Detection Rating)
50 (EPtA1 - 30s)
Total = 5889.4

Okay then, that's the Snooper Angle, what's the Sneaker Angle? Well, to be honest - I'm not sure about investing in Starship Stealth. The Stealth Value for the ship with just BOFFs/Aux would be 5480...w/o Singularity Charge. Remember, 5 pips = -400 Stealth Value.

The Snooper Persona could see the Sneaker Persona @ ~8km w/ TDF & Scan.

What about w/o TDF & Scan? 5318.525 Perception/StealthSight would be useless.

But wait, isn't the Standard Stealth Value 4975? For no Stealth gear/skills and 50 Aux, you would be correct. Without popping any abilities (other than the DCE'd EPtA1), this EBC'd T'varo would be able to see the Standard Sneaker @ ~6.9km. Popping TDF & Scan, it could see the Standard Sneaker @ ~18.3km.

Okay though, but what's bugged?

Neither the Stealth Values nor Perception/StealthSight Values should be as high as they are.

The Jem'Hadar Deflector Mk XI is only supposed to be giving +1.0% StealthSight. It's giving +1.5% StealthSight. That's only 0.5km more than it should.

The Sub Trait is not supposed to stack. 5x BOFFs is giving +750 Starship Stealth, when there should only be +150. That's +600 Starship Stealth or +300 Stealth Value or +6km of Stealth Distance.

Yeah, obviously the Sub Trait stacking is the bigger issue...but both are bugs.

Once fixed, what would that mean for our 5889.4 Perception vs. 5480 Stealth allowing the Snooper Side to see the Sneaker Side @ ~8km? It would become 5864.4 (P) vs. 5180 (S), and the distance would be @ ~13.7km.

It would be @ ~17.8km for that Standard Sneaker (4975 Stealth). @ ~6.4km w/o popping TDF & Scan.

Oh well, like I said... I was bored...

I don't think we need to encourage people to exploit in the mean time do we ?

Meh, I'm not sure the Jem thing will ever be fixed. I forget how long ago I bug reported it. I've brought it up from time to time.

Login (Sector/Normal Space) and it will be +1%. Reslot it and tada...+1.5%. Or if you login ground or go ground then back to space, it will reslot it for you to give you the +1.5% instead of the +1%.

Pendulums usually take awhile to stop in the middle - they keep swing from one side to the other - it will get there eventually - but a swing to the perfect cloak for awhile on all cloaking ships is in order.

I have a different issue! I am doing the mission "Space Chase" and the game says I need to go to "sector space"; However, there is no way to get there and no way to activate warp drive.

ANy ideas?

From what I understand people testing the fixed EPTA on tribble... a Sci speced properly with EPTA and Sensor scan can detect out to about 11k on average... its hardly going to be an issue.

Will average escort dude that decides to run epta be able to see more then a few 2k... no and thats fine.

Sci has most of the de-cloaking skills - and the detection skills - plus many of the de-cloaking powers are sci.

Sci should be the only class good at being snoopers - an tacscort being a snooper is just a silly concept.

Agreed. Science is the class that's intended to find cloaked enemies. Science ships are the ships best designed to both find enemies and reveal them to others by either disabling the auxiliary power system with a subsystem attack, or by hitting them with a Sensor Scan or something else.

With the fixed EPtA, people will have to go back to actually using a snooper build to find cloaked enemies. As a BoP pilot, I have no problems with this. I can work around that.
