# 1 Scimitar in Fleet Alert
06-06-2013, 11:54 AM
If the enemies are Romulan the Siege ship is a Scimitar. It will randomly cloak and haul it in a random direction. Last night I watched it run 22k away for no reason, then just park. Of course we failed the 3 min requirement.

The reason I'm bug reporting this is because there seems to be no reason for when the Scimitar does this. It has done it with nearly full shields, so it wasn't an attempt to save itself, and it has decloaked after repositioning only to sit there, so it's not an attempt to attack with a decloak bonus.

My guess would be that it's sitting there doing the usual scimitar massive cone AoE build up attack, that you can't see because of the 22km distance... and then once it finished that it no longer has a target, and is too far away to acquire a new one, so it sits there...

I seem to recall there being something with staying more than 5 km away from scimitars to stop them from triggering their Cloak/run/cone (Or at least, their excessive use of it. They might still do it at certain hull%)... Although I'm not sure if that's one of those old myths that tends to stick around, like not clicking the glowies in the terra-volta respec trial from city of Heroes. Because clearly people in STFs that I've been on recently haven't heard of staying 5km away. (although they've also been ignoring the 10% rule on elite Infected runs, so... *shrug* pugs, whatcha gonna do? )

Although why it went that far out I cant say... did it latch on to a target-able projectile?

The 5km rule works in fleet alert. The problem is getting the rest of the team to keep back.

Like I said, "*shrug* pugs, whatcha gonna do?"
