I hardly have any ground STF experience because nobody ever wants to do it. Admittedly, the only ground STF experience I have is the ground Infected.

Well I can understand why you wouldn't have had much experience since. Infected Ground is a swine, especially on Elite if you're going for the optional.

There are people doing it, but due to it's issues of usually taking longer and being easier to fail the optionals. That said, you do get more marks - both as a reward and as an optional reward - for ground missions.

If you are looking to do ground missions, PublicEliteSTF is the best place to look and ask.
Iconian? A label created by the Dewans to give voice to their destruction.

I'll have to remember that in case I ever feel like it. Thanks.

So many people seem to dislike ground STF missions. The only reason why I can see this is because they are harder then space missions and when you have crappy teammates they can be very hard to complete if not impossible.

The rewards for Omega Marks is more in ground missions then from space mission. Also when your on a good team the ground missions are very fun much more then space missions. I have also gotten more very rare ground gear from mission the very rare space gear from space mission.

I personally don't know how people can only play space missions and ignore ground missions. I can't stand playing nothing but space missions all the time I need a change of pace.

I agree 100%. I like doing ground missions every now and then (although I prefer space missions because I love naval battles, be it oceanic or interstellar). As I said previously however, I have a hard time finding a team who actually wants to do any ground STFs or ESTFs. That, and I afraid I'll be put on a crappy team, have to quit, and then be put on an hour long ban because my team sucked. To those people I like to say... well, Spock put it best...

I hate doing ground in general, even for storyline missions. A large part of it is the fact that I can't render ground smoothly on my laptop. It's always jerky as hell for me, and precise movement is difficult, especially when there's a lot of stuff going on. If I have to lower everything to the absolute minimum in performance and quality and run at half-resolution to make it work, then I don't even wanna bother. I just stick with space content, and it's fine with me.

Try Khitomer in Stasis Elite mission that one is the easiest to complete and as such is easiest to get started. If that mission fails then it is because of a bunch of noobz who have no idea what to do and don't listen and they quit. I have done that mission a lot and I would say less then 1% of the time has it failed.

I just recently completed it with the optional objective having 2+ min still left. I am a melee fighter and it makes it easier especially as a Sci character with medic kit.

Ah, so thats why. I have noticed sense the launch of LOR, space STF dosent seem to be harder for me, but has been taking a little bit longer sumtimes depending on the team.

Be4 LOR i didnt find myself flying around trying to chase down the spheres to fire at them. Now iv noticed, when im firing at a sphere, it will start to turn and do a full 180 and start going the opposite way

Some people simply dislike Ground and make almost no investment in it.

I have 8 Aliens and a Reman. Each Alien has a single Ground Trait, because they couldn't take a 9th Ground Trait. The only Ground Trait the Reman has is the Species Trait.

8 Space/1 Ground.

None of them have more than the allowed min 66k Skill Points spent in Ground.

300k Space/66k Ground.
Maal, Klingon, Mogh - Vegar, Orion, Marauder - R'ebel, Romulan, Haakona
Willard the Rat, Reman, F.T'varo - Rave, J.Trill, Kar'Fi - Mysk, Gorn, Varanus
Kopor, Nausicaan, Guramba - Nivuh, Ferasan, B'rel - Venit, Lethean, M.Qin

This. I have a fleet Hoh'sus and plain old MK XI purple from exchange and drops. Build has been optimized for PvP but I still do massive dmg in estf. Been pugging it for weeks. Have not failed any optionals in at least 2-3 weeks.

Build and skill is far more important than rep gear.

I run ESTFs all the time on my KDF Sci, who has no Space Rep gear. And only half-decent weapons - nothing above Mk XI rare, depending on the ship.

Now, ground. Ground is a bit different, in my experience.
