Making bricks without straw has become deriguer for the KDF. I prefer KDF because even with the limited number of ships, I can make something which is not a carbon copy of everyone's else's OP Escort of the Week. (Available now in the Z-Store! Act today! Supplies are limited!) and it is still effective as a ship. I have been able to make a decent looking Retro TOS-inspired uniform for my toons and my Boffs. I can ask another KDF player a question and get a civilized answer. In an ESTF, I can reasonably assume the other KDF players will use skill and ability to achieve the Optional. Rather than rely upon thise week's newest shiny from the Z-Store. Are there Starfleet players who can also use skill and ability? Abso-frakkin'-lutely! But they are getting harder and harder to find amidst the vast unwashed herd. KDF, for me, has always been more about the people than the shiny. Or the game.

Welcome to the KDF, OP. Nice to meet you and glad you're here. About all we have left is our honor and our blades. Which we use regularly to halt the unending flood of Starfleet. Our honor is still intact and our blades, while worn, are still sharp. We will use both to the best of our abilities as long as we can.

I am going to make a bold prediction. Some day, far off from now when the lustre and excitement of STO has grown thin with the Federation herd, who will promptly drop it for the newest neat-o MMO, the KDF will still be here. And when this occurs, we will be lauded for keeping STO alive after all the Johnny Come Latelys have run off to play World of Warcrack IV. On that day, PWE/Cryptic will be grateful to the KDF players.

But we still won't have any new Z-Store ships. rofl.

The whole mess with the missing boffs or boffs that fail to load or get replaced with ships isn't a KDF exclusive. It is present in EVERY single faction and it is the cause so many people complain that their department heads keep changing.
But yes, the KDF has some really old bugs and glitches that were never fixed like missions not completing properly unless you do things in a certain sequence, a whole map missing a huge chunk of floor(it is there, just invisible) or having the rewards of the entire Undine arc not scale to level as they should.
In the end, once you reach endgame, none of this things matter anymore, but they sure detract from the experience.

Blood of the Empire. What MMO would allow a big gaping black hole in their map for year(s) and not be totally embarrassed? You guessed it! Welcome!

I second that prediction, nicely put.

Funny thing this OP thinks they should suspend around 20 of my toons because he doesn't like how some of the stuff is so broken... Yeah I think not.

Welcome to the KDF. Now you know what all the "whining" has really been about.

LoR was technically Season 8 (renamed internally) - and the next Season update will be number nine (stated in other interviews.) So, you're saying after all they added for LoR (Season 8) - basically finally giving the KDF a level 1 -50 path, and it's own tutorial and a starting storyline that is now quite "Klingon" - the fact they now want to move the general story of STO forward (for all factions in the end game) with Season 9 - and will give the KDF some new ships in Season 10 - is suddenly 'neglecting the KDF again'?

Wow.

Wow.
Don't forget the two new ships, plus a third one in the pipe, plus persistent rumors about new fleet ships. Clearly no love at all.

Well gents, I am so sorry that I had to be in the dark all of these years. I'm sorry that you have to put up with so much crap just for having a preference as a space pirate, galactic terrorist, honorbound warrior, etc. I'm even more sorry that after all this time of being kicked into a corner, you've sort of been forced to lower your hopes and standards to depressing levels. You guys deserve better.

And seriously, Jesus, how hard can it be to make a faction good? They created a whole new one in a few months and its stable, there's no excuse.
More anything?

The "story" has always been a leveling option for me. Really who plays this for the story? If you want story go get a good single player game like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Really if STO's story entertains you then Bipolar Janeway was probably the highlight of your week back in the 90s.

Its great to have that 1-50 leveling now available, but thats been promised for years. One of those two new ships in LOR has been in the game for over a year. Also, only one is useful because its a B'Rel skin at endgame. Lets face it, in this game, only endgame matters because its can be leveled in a few days.

As for fleet ships. Scourge and Corsair are still bugged a year after the fleet bases. And the two extra ships that were put into the fleet store are a joke. Varanus is kinda okay but it still lags behind. The Fleet B'rel at T5 worthless for 98% of the KDF because its T5.

Really just fixing a few of the more prominent bugs and making a few fleet ships would probably go along ways to pacifying the endgame players.
