# 1 Well Done Cryptic *Slow Clap*

Do you guys really consider Balance when considering powers etc...

Because you have gone and broken Ground PvP again!

Firstly you Bring out Purple Mk XII Kits, Tac and Eng get MK XII versions of one of their best or better kits, Sci get, what Xenobiologist, one of their worst kits! So a Tactical has fire team kit with its better stats.

Then you bring out Doffs which better the defence and offense of the Ambush ability plus the new traits from the lock box and this has resulted in a player today in Ground PvP achieving 40K+ damage

When I could target him through his stealth it would not break, he then at numerous times one-shotted players whilst still under stealth! Even when I had all medic abilities active with all the DOffs that affect medical abilities, with the Adapted MACO Set etc.

He could invisa-shot players dead... Or he would use the Omega Weapon with surpressing fire which I could break and would be fully healed from my abilities but he would re-stealth instantly (where's the cool down gone), swap to a pulsewave and bam still dead.

Cryptic, if you continue to balance things in favour of tactical you are heading for a very frustrating, boring game.

Before anyone says well he is just a good player taking advantage of what skills, traits and equipment there is, I agree, I would do the same... But what I am saying is there should not be any combination of traits, abilities, equipment etc that makes you either invincible or so powerful to invisa-one shot you.

And in terms of my ground build, maxed Medic Skill, MK XII Adapted MACO, Medic Mk X Purple Kit, Resilient, Acute Senses and Medical Vanguard traits, all Purple DOffs which affect your Medic abilities and normally I can withstand the greatest ground onslaughts and am a Daily PvP'er.

Please Cryptic consider doing a Balance pass on all abilities.

Cheers

The only acceptable way to balance PvP is to give PvP stats to every power and item in the game. If you are in a PvP area, then you use PvP stats not PvE stats.

Cryptic tried that in CoH, didn't help a bit and PvP stayed deader than disco.

Then perhaps not as many people want PVP as one might immediately consider?

I mean, I'd actually be totally and 100% down for the PVP/PVE stats on equipment. I think that would be a *great* way to keep both sides balanced. But if they did that in CoH, and the PVP in CoH stayed dead...

...well...

The problem is that fixing a PvP problem will affect PvE and fixing a PvE problem will affect PvP. So PvEers will be outraged when a PvP problem is fixed and negatively affects their gameplay and PvPers will be outraged when a PvE problem is fixed and negatively affects their gameplay. Isolating these two systems will allow the devs to be not concerned with the PvE effects of fixing a PvP problem and the PvP effects of fixing a PvE problem. Although with COH's PvP, they did too many changes to fix PvP and caused a good portion to leave because players could no longer defeat an opponent in 5 seconds or wail on a defenseless opponent with permanent holds.

Bad news: PvP players make up less of the total game population then the entire Klingon faction used to (they've grown)... Under the cryptic way that translates to not a whole lot of effort is going to be directed to PvP.

Additional note: Nothing stays static, just like in the real world changes in military technology effect tactics. If you don't keep up, then your going to get punked. Assumedly the original poster has suddenly found themselves getting punked.. perhapes an adjustment in tactics or use of equipment is called for eh? Sorry, got no sympathy for you.

Good news.. Players just got more effective in PvE and the mobs haven't been adjusted..of course playing STF's on elite level only got possibly marginally easier.. Thems the breaks!

*snarky grin*

Honestly, the best way to fix PvP is to introduce a new kind of PvP similar to DCUO's Legends(assuming that it has stayed the same).

Under a new PvP, you would be placed in iconic and specific Starships that are so designed by Cryptic to be balanced in every which way.

I think, by the way, that it would be really neat of Cryptic to do that. I think that they could make money doing it if they did it right and advertised the costume value of the item.

You know, this might actually appeal to me. See, I could get down wih the idea of a short match against another player. But PVP is not, in fact, a 'short match against another player', but rather a long, drawn out grind to get the best equipment and figure out the absolute best build and make sure that all your numbers are tweaked in a specific way and oh yeah you might want to spreadsheet some of the stacking numbers and ARRRRRGGGH!

That doesn't appeal to me. I mean, if other people like it, that's awesome, and they should have fun, but its not what I want.

However, if I could log onto PVP, and go "Okay, my choices are agro escort, DPS escort, agro cruiser, control cruiser, healing sci, buff/debuff scie, I'll try this one" and then be playing? That'd take out the part I don't like, while leaving the part that sounds like fun.
