# 1 Dilithium Mining Claim + Event
06-01-2013, 07:20 AM
Hey guys

Thought I'd spend some ec on a dominion box and got dilithium mining claims.

Before I use them, as I do the mining anyway during the event time, (its a pretty easy 1500dil) does the claim get effected in any way by the bonus of the event like the standard mining?

While I'm sure the answer is no I thought I would check before I start using them. I don't want to wait until tomorrow if I can start now.

Cheers!

No it doesn't. Max you can ever get from the Rich Vein in 5k. That's with a score of 700+

If you do them both together and get the high score all 6 times, that can net you 6.5k during the event. Which is pretty good for 20 minutes of work.

Be careful. The Rich Dil Claims are addictive. You will do a few and find you want more and more. And since they are bind to character, you can only get them from opening lockboxes. I vicious cycle.

Just to be precise, it is a minimum score of 735 in case anyone stops before that and starts raging.

I have heard the drop rate of these claims is pathetic in the new lockboxes, is the drop rate the same in the dominion ones ?

Dom ones used to drop quite often.

I used to get between 10 and 46 claims every 20 boxes on average. Some days open 20 and get 0 others open 20 and get 20. I believe the dominion box has been altered to match the rate for the Talshiar box.

According to the Talshiar 6000 box test the average worth of a claim during that test is now $4.17 cents which if 417 zen is converted to dilithium at even a lower than now rate of 100 per that would be 41700 Dilithium versus one claim at 5000 per.

Seems to me opening boxes for claims has gone from possibly breaking even to not worth it at all. The day I opened 20 and got 46 claims thats 230,000 dilithium for 225,000 dilithium worth of zen (at 100 per, current rate is higher). Not to mention all the other stuff you get.

Way I figure it now I mind as well spend 10 bucks a week on Zen for Dil and only buy keys with EC maybe 1 a day like a dollar lotto ticket.

Lockboxes are dropped randomly or bought through the Exchange or dilithium store. Lockboxes are not that important and some people would be willing to give theirs. The Lockbox Key is the important part and you either buy them through the exchange or through the C-Store. It is either 125 Zen for 1 or 1125 for 10. Lockboxes on the Exchange cost about 1000 EC or less while Lockbox Keys costs about 1.5 million EC per key.
