So far, so good for LoR. I'm hugely enjoying the story and flying around in the Warbirds. Or at least I was :/

I started a mission called "Last Stand", which comes just as the story with the Elachi starts to pick up pace, but then this mission breaks that trend. This mission just feels like the game is deliberately trying to slow down my progression for example when you have to go and save a station in the Tephrei system, you must defeat three waves of enemies. Thats fine and all, but there are over 20 ships in all that you must face which whilst initially awesome, gets rather tedious and monotonous rather quickly, imo. Plus with the seperate swarms being as close together as they are you will find yourself surrounded pretty quickly which further drags things out. Especially if a wayward torpedo comes your way (doubly so if you've just been teleported into it by that weird Elachi ship ability)

But Im enjoying everything else so far, this is just my two sense anyone else having this issue or have played this mission yet?

The mission (if it is the one I am thinking of) ends with you having to destroy the command ship in the last wave. That portion of the mission was heavily derided as an insane increase in difficulty during open beta and nothing appears to have been done about it, but I have not gotten there yet.

There's actually two missions like that. Last Stand is the first one, which I found frustrating (lots of buffed Elachi ships take a long time to die) but eventually doable. The Defence of New Romulus, however, appears borderline impossible for the majority of players who've posted about it on the boards.

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!

Have to agree about Last Stand. Just finished it (after what seemed like hours) and have to say it is the least fun mission I've played for any faction, and rates up there with some of the worst foundry missions I've tried. Way too many ships in way too many waves, while your stuck in a d'deridex / d'ridthau (or as I like to call giant space turtle) that can't turn and barely deals damage. Blah. No fun.

Defence of New Romulus was ridiculous. Just me and two or three other ships (permanently repairing) and over 50 Elachi?

What were they thinking?! Ruined an otherwise fun experience of the LoR storyline.

You actually get like 20 allies, HOWEVER, your allies all but 5 die instantly because they dont leave the cones that the elachi escorts fire. On top of this all elachi respawn infinitely. So your fleet is wiped out in seconds and theirs is immortal.

on a whim i figured id try this, since the overall goal was to fix the mining stations.didnt say i HAD to blow up the battleship

what ya do is engage cloak, and fly around on to the far side of the asteroid the last mining site is on. and creep up slowly until the "repair mining station" box comes up. if done right, you should be able to repair it, while using the asteroid itself as a shield, thereby preventing you from going boom.once mining station is fixed you complete objectives and can leave

Yeah....developers need to turn it down a little on the Defense of Romulus. Totally ridiculous. More ships does not necessarily mean more fun. Like someone said earlier...it is tedious. I am here to play a fantasy game, not fight the Zulus at Isandalwana.

It's nasty, I'd compare it to Thermopylae myself
