# 1 Fleet Holding Speculation

So now that our wondrous fleets have outposts around the galaxy, it's still not enough for Cryptic's grind party to continue. So they will think about the Next Big Thing for fleets. With subsidiaries in every corner of the map, perhaps it's time to think about defence?

My thoughts are at a Task Force Omega Forward Base in Gamma Orionis. There's bound to be weapons development happening there that warrants the creation of Fleet Tactical Consoles. I'll even bet on Fleet Weapons with the [Borg] modifier.

Each Fleet Holding uses two Duty Officer Commendations. The ones left are Espionage, Exploration, Colonial, and Medical. My guess is that one will be a Listening Post for the Espionage and Exploration and a Hospital on some colony for Medical and Colonial.

I dunno, I could see something with both Colonial and Exploration working well together. Maybe not necessarily a colony of course, but there could be something. Perhaps it wouldn't be as 'combat bonusy' as other holdings, instead maybe focusing more on non-combat bonuses, or be more eng/operations heavy. Perhaps add in greater DOFF generation (to add to projects) with this holding or something. I could also see this working well if they ever do an exploration and/or crafting revamp.

Plus, Medical and Espionage could work together. Military bases (or something like it) don't just have barracks for soldiers, but medical wards and much more past that. I could totally see this being added with new harder endgame content, especially if we dig more into the Tholians or Iconians, or another enemy. A forward base like that would be useful. Tac consoles, sure, but maybe also like...DOFFs to help you out medically on the ground (maybe healing more when you rez someone for example). Very tac/sci focused.

Colonization and Exploration do go together well, and I think a fleet colony holding might be nice. Nice scenery, at least.

Hmm. Maybe not a Fleet Colony, because that's a bit on the expensive side to build, IRL. Maybe a Transport Base is the thing. Nothing like a Fleet Starbase. In the endgame, perhaps it has options of specialised Civilian DOFFs. I might use them.

My prediction is they will add tac consoles to the next holding and crash the value of the current tac consoles just like they did with the engineering ones.

It'd be New Romulus Redux. Think how much you put into the New Romulus Rep+Embassy+the colonization chains, then multiply it by...50 or so, to make sure there's enough grind to be worthy of a Fleet doing this.
