# 1 Dissapointing Fleet Mine
07-21-2013, 04:07 PM
Yup our fleets have their own mine and it doesn't do as much as it should.First off only two duty officer Assignments and the one for dilithium only gives yo 250 if you don't critical it.second no option to refine extra dilithium.you would think having a mining operation would result in more of the two.And while it's nice to have the chance to get cool consoles and warp/singularity engines, they are just to expensive on the dilithium costs.there are just way to many ways to spend it but not enough ways to get it and build up a reserve stock pile.I say get rid of the dilithium cost and just double or triple the fleet credit cost.

Have to agree on the assignments. People telling me to get the miners for the mining assignments. I looked over the assignments are there are no real special requirements for them. Most of my current doffs could fill that assignment with decent trait bonus. I thought they'd have a real impact on it.

Since we have our own mine...can we mine it...

Costs for gear aren't that big for what you get, considering mkxii sing cores are rediculously priced on exchange.

I really do hate to be that guy but...

Go back and have a look through how the base progresses. T2 opens up out side. Once your out there you can mine rocks. Hit t3 and it suggests a rich vein will become available.

Im not logged in right now to confirm, but i also believe that t2 unlocks an additional mission to refine ore.

Also as a bonus with every tier those two doff missions increase in reward i cant remember the wording off hand but im sure it changed from rich to massive. I managed to crit a couple of times on the mineral mission and was rewarded 115,000 EC each time, im hoping over the next couple of days i get time to get on and explore a bit more.

Remember guys that barren rock you have at the moment turns into this glorious bastard!

It just costs too darned much for how little it provides. Want a huge sum of Dilithium fast? Play Elite STF's and trade in Marks and Processors for Dilithium. Far outstrips the Dilithium Mine AND provides you extra goodies to sell for EC or keep if you need them. A good fleet should be able to pile drive Infected Space in less than 10 minutes easy and KA nearly that fast.

Value of the Dilithium-earning doff mission rises as you level up the mine.

Anyway, IMO the dil aspects of the mine are secondary - the main value are the Eng consoles which so massively outstrip their vanilla counterparts that it's not even funny. To a lesser extent you could say the same about the warp cores (though they are not so compelling!).

My biggest issue with the mine, is that it costs a fortune in Dilithium to actually get it all up and running to begin with... The amount we're going to save is negligible once you take into account the amount we have to spend to get the discounts in the first place.

I don't think the Dilithium mine projects (any of them, not just the main track) should cost Dilithium.
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since Beta.
99 little bugs in the code, 99 little bugs.
Take one down, patch it around.

# 9 So thats Colossal

Our Fleet mine reached tier 2 so I went to start the duty officer assignment.Colossal ore deposit sounded promising, but this colossal vain only give you 375 dilitium. They really need to change the rewards for these assignments.we spend so much to get our holding better and don't get that much back.As it stands going to Nimbus once a day gets you more Dilithium then your Fleet Mine. Some in my fleet say the main reason for the mine is the nifty consoles, which are nice but could have just been added to the fleet star base without getting our hopes up of a substantial amount of dilithium ore and some extra refinement of said ore per day.

I think the biggest problem with the mine is the awful selection of new gear you get. Only three engineering console variants, as opposed to the significantly larger Embassy science console selection. The doffs you can get on the Embassy have unique effects, the doffs you get in the mine are only really useful for the Dilithium mining projects and are inherently inferior to countless other doffs for the job, since they have the success trait. And lastly, the Warp/Singularity cores. Cool in concept, but there are a ton of modifiers for them and very limited selection of combinations. It would be amazing if they let you choose which mods you wanted on your core, but they don't and the preset selections are really underwhelming. None of them are optimized for a specific role and all of them leave something to be desired.

All in all, it just seems like a supremely low effort offering compared to the Embassy.
All the toys you can't afford.
