When you are cloaked you aren't doing damage. The damage boost makes up for the downtime.

Cloak is like WW2 Submarine combat, the idea is to sneak up and blow your target away before they react, but the risk is that if you get caught you are defenseless.

It seems to me that players would rather complain about cloak then actually use skills to counter cloaks and then get free kills on unshielded targets that can't use any abilities.

If you don't want any "downtime" then don't cloak.

WW2 submarines are weaker than WW2 corvettes when they're surfaced.

It seems to me that the cloak will be nerfed one way or another. Instead of removing the damage buff the devs would do something lamer like making the cloak useless unless you're like 20 K or further away. We're talking about MMORPG developers here.

They've actually buffed cloaking several times in the past year...heck, they even released a new faction where every ship at release of that expansion had at least a Battle Cloak. After that expansion, they released a lockbox with a pair of ships with cloaks.

Lol, even with the recent lockbox - they oopsied and included a cloak on one of the ships (that they will be removing at some point).

I don't see them nerfing cloaks one way or another...

They're MMORPG developers, first they swing wide right, then they swing wide left.

They're driving triples, and put the heaviest trailer in the back.

They do the Rocky Mountain double, backwards.

It's to make up for the TT you just activated when you hear me buffing up.

I have a proposal, if you can't hear me buffing even when I'm right on top of you then I'll lose the damage bonus, how's that?

The ability to hear you clicking those skills is an interesting tactical layer added to the battle, and mimics a few things you see on the show/movies that would be really hard to implement into a videogame environment.
