I'll be honest, I was expecting some new duty officer powers with the new Elachi Doffs; however, from what I understand, these new doffs have the same powers as other doffs but also have a pretty much useless trait (IMO) that gives 2% dmg against Elachi's.
So, I decided to write up what I would personally like to see in terms of new duty officer powers (again this is just a bunch of suggestions):
Ground Warfare Specialist- If knocked down, chance to almost immediately "spring" back up as well as cause a slight AoE damage knock-back to surrounding enemies.
Projectile Weapons Officer- Reduces weapon power taken by all projectiles by a certain amount.
Space Warfare Specialist- If certain systems are offline (including boff powers), chance to almost immediately restore all systems and powers as well as cause an AoE shockwave to surrounding enemy vessels.
__________________________________________________ ___________ Security ---> ***This is the real thing I would like to see (liability/ asset doffs: ones who excel at something but also have a negative impact)***
Armory Officer- Increases maximum hit-points and all energy damage resistance, however reduces all damage dealt by a certain percentage. (ground)
Assault Squad Officer- Increases all damage dealt and increases critical severity, however reduces all energy damage resistance, all healing done, and hit points. (ground)
Security Officer- Chance to add significant amount of stealth when being flanked, however also has a chance to lower resistance. (ground)
__________________________________________________ ___________ Engineering department
Fabrication Engineer- Beam down extra random "weaker" drone(s) when creating turrets and or/ motars. Cannot occur more than once every 45 seconds.
Matter-Antimatter Specialist- Increases all power levels while in combat. (space)
Technician- Grants immunity to control effects and increases turn rate, when critically hit in space combat.
__________________________________________________ ___________ Operations department
Explosives Expert- All mines now deal less damage, however have a larger AoE and cannot be jumped over. (ground)
Hazard System Officer- Removes up to 2 random procs when critically hit in space combat.
Tractor Beam Officer- Chance to cause mines, boarding parties, or even torpedoes to be sent via tractor beam (through the beam). These are unstoppable and only occur rarely through the use of the tractor beam skill.
__________________________________________________ ___________ Science department
Geologist- When critically hit, decent chance to cause all enemies to experience a knock down. (ground)
Development Lab Scientist- Chance to cloak the ship with full shields on (even if the ship does not have a cloak) for a few seconds when engaged by three or more enemy ships.
Photonic Studies Scientist- When critically hit, provides secondary shielding made up of photons, which has extra resistance versus proton attacks, and has the same shield life as your original shields. Cannot occur more than once every 5 minutes.
__________________________________________________ ___________ Medical department
Doctor- all healing done is increased by a certain percentage. (ground)
Biochemist- Increase resistance to proc effects (space)
__________________________________________________ ___________ Civilian department
Chef- All food becomes 20% more effective in terms of healing and also grants a small damage buff on consumption. (ground)
Trader- Chance to gain extra energy credits or better loot after killing a certain amount of enemies. Can only occur once every three minutes.
