Thanks for the info. Now for the dumb questions: How does the Fleet Negh'var/Qu'Daj/Voodieh stack up? I am debating whether to use the Fleet Vor'cHa or the Fleet Voodieh/Negh'Var. I could save up for both, but I would rather pick the one that plays the best over the other. Thanks for humoring my questions.

The Tor'kaht is Tac heavy the Fleet Negh'var Engineering heavy.

The Tor'kaht is faster.

Both are good ship, but it comes down to play style.
I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001.
If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why.
When I insult you I won't be discreet about it, I will be precise and to the point stupid.

Tor'kat bridge layout is evenly split between tac and engi, which is a bit odd and takes some adaptation from traditional escort and cruiser builds. You can run some mid-level tac and one high-level engi boff, the rest are all low-level seats. But what this means in practice is that you can seat a bunch of EPtS/ET/AtSIF/etc and get an extremely heavy tank that is also able to run APO and 2x CRF or BO or what have you

i know its almost a heresy , but what u think about "beam boat" Tor' ?

i want another gunboat from him , like i have in past at my KDF rommie Ha'feh Assault Warbird , but i change my mind after i once enter Kerrat at level 50 , even i consider my ship as agile and i dont problem in PVE with turning , here i been smash from super-agile (even my To'duj fighter looks like lazy bastard when i look how their can fly fast and turn ) FED escorts .... and ha'feh is more agile than Tor' .....

idea is:
TT1,APB, FAW 3 (with doffs 4 reduce cooldown)
TT1,APB
EPTW1 , Epts 2+3 , aceton 3 (now , but i propably swithch to DEM 3)
EPTW1
HE 1+2

i propably use in front one (i think ) polarised ? disruptor DHC + breen cluster (until i grind rep for omega torp) , rest beams
Sorry 4 my bad English , is not my native language

Have a quick question about the Tor'Kaht if you guys don't mind.

I've been eyeing both the Tor'Kaht and the Monbosh as a battlecruiser for my Gorn. They seem very similar but have enough differences that I feel the need to ask about them. Is one of them considered "better"? Or does it simply come down to aesthetic preference?

Also a bit off topic but, is the bio-neural warhead any good/still worth it? Would like some opinions before I drop 1k Zen on it. Played around on one with my Fed but I don't think I'm using it properly. Would using one work on a Tor'Kaht or Monbosh?

Just now really getting into the KDF finally after all these years of playing as a Feddie. Loving the battlecruiser thing going on, but not entirely sure what I'm doing haha.

The Monbosh is a direct copy-paste of the Tor'Kaht (which is why it briefly had a Cloak). The Hull difference is minimal, the Shield Modifier difference is better on the Monbosh (which I admit, is nicer), the Monbosh's boff layout is more versatile (albeit you replace an Ens. Eng with an Ens. Sci), it has another device slot (wow, so useful...) and it has the special console as opposed to a Cloaking Device.

Now, I've been flying the Tor'Kaht for 9 months now, and I do not regret a single second of it. It is the most epic ship since sliced bread, so much that I wasn't as annoyed as I expected when I saw the Monbosh being a copy-paste. I actually stuck the Monbosh on my Fed and gave it the same build as my Tor'Kaht because I love it so much.

Speaking of experience of both, both perform pretty much EXACTLY the same. However, I find it much nicer to have a Cloaking Device I can ambush people with on the Tor'Kaht than being noticed as something looks like it came out someone's ear. In PvE, both perform as equally good as each other. In PvP, I find the Monbosh is too easily noticed at the moment, because it looks ugly, is new, registry can be turned off and is epic at doing what it does. That's why I like using my Tor'Kaht, that and its a Klingon ship. Why would you not use a Klingon ship?

Overall, my opinion is that I personally like the Tor'Kaht best, simply because it is Klingon, was there first, not nearly as expensive and has a semi-useful Cloaking Device (which, granted, I don't use all the time, but is nice that it's there at all). Performance-wise, both are exactly the same apart from the Cloak and maybe the versatility and options for the Monbosh.

Depends on the build, but I've always gone Tac with full Cannons for maximum DPS, and of course the closer, the better. With the Bio-neural having a minimum range, it defeats its purpose and removes some of my DPS. But, like I said, depends on the build at hand. I get the general impression that people don't find it useful normally however.

lol. it's fine. Just note, Battle Cruisers are VERY different to Fed Cruiser. They can actually turn, Cloak, have DHC's, work extremely well with Tac and therefore DPS-orientated builds and look awesome

Awesome, thanks! I have a little while yet before I hit 50 so I'll mull this stuff over on the way there. This is definitely the kind of stuff I was looking for.

My Tor'Kaht build for those who are curious.

CMDR Eng: EPtS 1, DEM 1, EPtS 3, Aux to SIF 3
ENS Eng: EPtE 1
LC Tac: THY 1, CRF 1, BO 3
LT Tac: TT 1, CSV 1
LT Sci: HE 1, TB 2

Fore Weapons: Disruptor DBB, Disruptor DHC, Photon Torp, Disruptor DC

Aft Weapons: 2x Disruptor Turret, Transphasic Cluster Torp, Disruptor Array (Transphasic cluster + BO 3 out the back can be quite nasty)

Full Honor Guard Mk XII set

Eng Consoles: Neutronium, Monotanium, Tachyokenetic Converter (use RCS if you don't have it), Plasmonic Leech

Sci Consoles: Embassy Flow Capacitor (+ Plasma), Other Toy (right now is the black hole console, but graviton pulse or isometric charge also work well)

Tac Consoles: 4x Disruptor

Cloak gives the Tor'Kaht the edge IMO.
With a couple of embassy doffs you get a nice 30% damage bonus when decloaking.
And if you really want to, speed fitting the ship can get you more use out of the cloak, being able to withdraw and return under cloak.

In addition the ability to survey the battlefield and pick your targets at your own leisure is just pure win.
I do it every time in a PvP match, and often don't join the battle until after its begun, to keep an eye out for any Cloak romulans to get the drop on.
