The Tor'kaht is a god among ships. I have nothing but praise for that ship. I have had one since a few months after I started my KDF, and good freakin lord... she owned in S6, she owned in S7, and by god guess what? She still owns in LoR and I am positive she will STILL own in S8 and beyond.

That ship basically takes everything you could ever want tanking wise, adds it on to some MAJOR dakka, and then throws in some good looks and a frakton of hull, and finishes off with a great turn rate and impulse mod. Her only weakness is her inertia. That sucker powerslides like a madman (and that's with NO RCS on there).

Like most KDF ships, the utility on the Tor'kaht is limited, but it's still more than enough to keep her alive. You can mount DHCs on her (AND she has the turn rate to use them well), and you can basically face-check virtually ANYTHING due to her lots of engi-slots and high hull and shield mod. If you put the mk XII borg set on her, she's pretty much invincible in PvE, and will be a ***** to deal with in PvP. Basically, she's every fed cruiser captain's wet dream. I should also mention she tears most enemy ships new ones on her first pass (if you need a second pass, props to your target).

And she looks great. The Tor'kaht skin looks beefy as hell, and the weapon hardpoints are nicely placed. Sufficed to say, she handles like a slightly (yes, only SLIGHTLY) sluggish raptor, and hits like a bloody supernova. And put on some embassy BOffs, and her decloaking alphas can be... well... devastating is putting it mildly.

Anyways, add on what I said to almost every other post praising the Tor'kaht, and you're good to go. Sufficed to say, she works for any career, and is incredibly adaptable damage-wise (ie you can build her as a gunship, beamboat, or torp bomber, she's got the tac slots to do it), and will survive almost any (if not all) counter-attacks.

Sufficed to say, I love my Tor'kaht. And the majority of the time, if I use it, **** dies. And mine isn't even optimized... yet.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.

I Support the Jupiter & Typhoon classes as playable ships! (As do about 165 other Supporters)

I don't mind if she "skidds" when I stop or try to do a Cochrane Deceleration Maneuver*. As long as she can pivot once I change directions I don't care which way she moves.

*Big flashy words for overrunning the target and doing full reverse. Evasive Manuevers makes this much easier to accomplish. Other names include Bootleg Reverse, and Crazy Ivan. I find these moves to be particularly effective when an escort trys to tailgate my ship; they often don't expect that kind of movement from a cruiser.

Actually for ****s, once I stuck 4 RCS on her. Good. Freakin. Lord. I was doing figure-eights. In space. With my rear. And there were ships trying to get on my tail, and I was so bloody squirrelly even my friends in BoPs had issues staying on my tail. I think the only one that was able to do so was in a fleet Norgh and he needed to use a combination of EPtE3 and EM3. It was hilarious.

And then I hit full impulse, and the Lord wept.

I love that power slide ability. Once one gets the hang of it one can powerslide in to stay on target very well and still have the momentum to keep at combat speeds.
