I'm running my 'theory' build but its not working out so well...

Fore weapons:

Antiproton DHC Mk XI [Dmg]x2 [CritH]
Chroniton DBB
Antiproton DHC Mk XI [Dmg]x2 [CritH]
Chroniton flux torpedo

Aft:

3x Antiproton turret Mk XI [Dmg] [Acc] [CritD]

So the chroniton is essentially to slow target obviously lowering defense value, while still giveing a good punch.

Shield: Covariant Shield Mk XI [Reg]x3

Impulse: Jem'Hadar Mk XI

Tac Console: 3x antiproton mag Mk XI very rare, chroniton flux regulator

Sci Console: 2x Field generator rare

Eng Console: cloak unit, 2x armour


Only manage to survive about 30 sec (!) in PvP so um wheres the problem?

We need to know your bridge officer abilities before saying anything but at first glance you have no Acc mods on your weapons (extremely important in PvP. Also use 4 antiproton mag consoles, don't mix and match bc you're reducing your antiproton dps by not having 4(or 5 in the fleet version)

that completely depends on your boffs!

but a few advices on the ship itself: upgrade to fleet version...and put in 5 antiproton consoles.
get zero point module and assimilated consoles.
what's your deflector? i'd suggest borg deflector and engine and a fleet shield if possible elite resiliant [resB] version.

BO Set-up: Cmd Tact- torp spread 1, Beam fire at will 2, torp high yield 3, Atack patt omega
Lt. Cmd tac- Tac Team 1&2, Cannon rapid fire
ensign tac- beam overload
lt. eng- emergency power to shields 1, reverse shield polarity 2
lt sci- sensor confuse thingy 1, tractor beam 2


Use a positron deflector with a few shield power mods

Here's a basic boff layout if you want to use Chroniton torp up front. I'd drop the Chroniton DBB and replace with a fleet antiproton Accx2 Dmgx2 Mk XII (get 3 of these DHC's) .


TT, CRF1,CRF2, APO3
TT, TS2,APO1
TS1
EPTS1, RSP
HE1, TSS2

I know conn doffs that reduce attack patterns CD are expensive but they are worth it bc then you could run the following

TT, CRF1, CRF2, APO3
TT, APB1, TS3
TS1

it is extremely important to get 2 purple damage control doffs so you can cycle your EPTS with nearly 100% up time. That plus TSS2 and constantly cycling your 2 TTs will improve your tankiness. But don't come to a complete stop. You must keep moving rotating your APO and Evasive maneuvers to speed tank when under fire.

Get the 2 piece borg set, engines and deflector with an Resilient elite fleet shields resB, but it's good to keep resA in your inventory. It's an extra hull heal and the shield is probably the best in game ATM for your ship.

From what you're trying to do not at all.

Your damage is from the DHC's so you want to maximize that. The torp is only to slow them down so you're only looking for the proc not the DPS from it which is why you should use torpedo spread instead of high yield. TS hits all the time and it may even help clear some spam at the same time.

Upgrade to the Fleet defiant and use 5 antiproton tac consoles. Trust me you'll see a difference in your dps.

How does 2 DCE doffs work if you had, say, EPTS2 and EPTW1? I imagine they'd activate more and more. I'm toying with this as an idea.

No. Fill out your tac consoles to boost your energy weapon damage. Torps are basically for 'Great your shield facing is down say hello to my Torp Spread!' It's just more efficient that way.

With 2 DCE doffs you could cycle them every 15 seconds and have them both up at the same time. This is what bugs and patrol escorts do. ME personally wouldn't want to lose the RSP as its your Oh CRAP button. But ships with that extra ensign eng slot it's awesome. Works great on non Aux2batt cruisers as well

Get yourself the fleet version.

Get yourself fleet and rep gear.

I recommend this set up...

3x DHC 1x DBB
2x Turret 1x KCB

TT, CRF1, APO1, APO3
TT, CRF1, BO3
BO1
EPtE1, EPtS2
PH1, HE2

5x Energy type tac console
Leech, Borg
Tachyo, RCS, Cloak

2x purple damage control doffs.
