My D'Kora tanks nicely and can still perform the DPS needed to be less of a burden on my team. I can transplant the build to a Fleet Assault Cruiser or Excelsior. I have run A2B on it and I get more dakka out of it but it tended to cost me a bit in healing and support. Sure I could tank just fine and survive while doing more damage but I didn't have the heals ready when my team mates needed them. I have since switched out of A2B.

It is not the be all and end all build for everything, other builds outperform it for a lot of other reasons. What it is doing is breathing fresh new life into cruisers for PvE, which the majority of players play and this is a good thing. I am sick and tired of escorts online for PvE, this change lets cruisers DPS on a level which allows it in sufficient numbers to compete with escorts.

Will it be able to beat a fully decked out PvE escort or team of escorts? I dunno, I can think of a number of builds in escorts which would beat it for damage and still retain aux for decent heals ad hock. Maybe once tykens and GW are fixed we can then see how they factor in as they should help change a few things, maybe for the better maybe not much at all.

If you are sick and tired of that maybe you'd ask pve content to need other class of ships/captains ,not to remove science and cruisers or turn them in escorts.

first of all a dps cruiser is a mess in team pvp, they are not used by premades because they are powerful but because they are useless. an aux2 bat cruiser is 100% dead with a well- timed subnuke and u only need one good escort to wipe it out. Almost having no aux is a big vulnerability to this build and rsp will be nuked off anyway. furthermore, a great damage value says absolutely nothing in this game. the kills count not the damage and these cruisers reach those values just due to FAWing aoe damage, they dont deal the effective spike damage to kill team pvpers in premades.

i absolutely cannot understand why everyone is crying about aux2batt being op nowadays, nou guys really should have witnessed tsi cruiser premades, with their insane phaser procs where each escort was jusr cannonfodder and they could do nothing against that becuz phaser procs immunity didnt exist. I guess many of them would have quitted the game 18 months ago if they complain about today's cruisers.

I think I played a few of those cruiser teams yes... and I may have even ran with the far more annoying and point proving turret boats.

Turret boat 4 reporting in.... lmao

You make a point that we all agree on... there was a time when pressure dmg was no joke... now the pendulum has swung in the complete opposite direction... and where a cruiser with NO tac buffs used to be a threat... now even with hard core double time buffs we all know they aren't really a threat.

All tech doffs do is give Cruiser boosters a reason to not want to rip Cryptic new ones over there destruction of the game at large.

I would rather have pressure dmg back and be able to run a proper cruiser... and in fact see cruisers in premade fights again. (not 5 man cruiser teams that was dumb... as I say we went from Cruisers online... to Your in a Cruiser... dude what are you doing ?)

I do, frequently. I even try playing the ships in the roles their designed for but deep down I know no matter how hard I try it will never lead to me being more useful or increasing the completion time.

However it is pretty obvious that the devs did not develop the game so all classes of captain and ship are to be shoe-horned into one and only one specific role like what happens in PvP. This is why the original cruisers have tactical and science stations to a varying degree. This is why we had damaging engineering/science abilities even if they are nerfed into oblivion by certain exploitative people.

Should PvE have more uses for the other ships and their orientation for completing objectives? Yes. At the same time PvP needs to evolve out of this shoe horning behaviour too and that is what A2B allows cruisers to do though some other ships can use it too.

In my last response concerning the cruiser premades of tsi and other fleets, i didnt mean u precisely, it is referred to all the guys who demand a nerf for them or who are not pleased with the now stronger presence of aux2 batt builds.

btw i didnt think of the turret cruiser builds, yer they are pretty nasty those sre able to maintain a constant energy damage on you, they can hurt.^^ u could do the same thing on an escort but those combos are annoying^^

I've seen this before in Ker'rat... You kill someone in a cruiser with Aux2batt and they say it is OP. Well, truth is, Aux2batt isn't the real problem. It's actually what makes cruisers viable still. So please don't complain if a "Kirk Cruiser" pops your bug
