Hi I am currently flying a Patrol Escort with Tetryon Weaponry and a Sovereign with the classic Phaser Quantumtorpedo Weaponry (2 of each on front and back)

Now i an thinking about an upgrade to a VADM Ship but the decision is between the Armitage or the Andorian Pack for my Tactical and between the Regent, The Dreadnaught and the Odyssey pack for my Engineer.
Which one would you recommend?
I know that the Dreadnaught is rarely seen ingame and the Odyssey has a slow turnrate. The Andorians are said to be easiyl destroyable.

Personally, I've main'd as an engineer and have a tact captain as well (both max level). I have the Regent and frankly, it's good, but not amazing in the hands of an engineer. The Odyssey pack is definitely a worthy competitor, as it is open ended on its build and not as restricted as the Regent. Plus, you get saucer separation, which means you could potentially run the Odyssey like a semi-escort. The Dreadnought.....unless you're willing to run something like EPtEngines and Aux2Damp combo, the dual cannons ability is a waste. You'll be PvE effective, but it's worthless in PvP.

As for personal experience, I've run the double and single A2B build on the regent as an engineer and quite frankly, it kicks ass in PvE, but not as much in PvP. I've tried cannon builds, beam boat builds, torpedo builds, tank builds, and everything in between on it and long story short: it will never do enough DPS in PvP. However, in PvE, you'll be able to sustain things like B:FAW with an almost 100% up time without power drain (assuming you spec'd properly). If you're crazy like me and like to fire at everything and tank at the same time, the Regent is not a bad choice at all. But if you want to be PvP effective, you're probably better off with an Andorian ship or some Tact. Escort, even on the engineer.

For me, I'd reverse the roles and put the tactical officer on the cruiser and the engi on the escort. Your B:FAWs will actually hurt and your escort will be tanky AND fast.

The thing with the Dreadnought is to not treat it like an escort, cause it's not. Turn rate is way too slow. Yes, you can mount cannons, but there's no need for it. I run mine as a phaser beam boat so I can beef up the lance as well as the beam arrays. Not as great, yes, but in time, it'll be better. I can imagine you have access to better consoles and stuff than I do, so you could make the Dreanought work if you really wanted to, but I think it's better suited to an engineer captain.
I'm saying that, and yet, I have one, love it an am a Tac captain. Go figure.

I don't know much about the Andorian escorts, but I'd be happy with one. Not worried about the set bonuses, but that's just me. They have pretty decent hulls. Better than my mirror escorts.

Get the Regent for your eng and the Armitage for your tac. You can't go wrong with either ship.

My VA eng runs the tac Vesta... it's great, especially when maxed out with the 3 rep systems. I chose to DPS/Hull tank in the 3 systems when choosing skills.

The Problem with the Vesta is the Hull. Its too weak. And i dont play that often so i am not intending to rush to max all Reputation systems just to make a ship worth it. I like the Odyssey but i would have to sacrifice one console to improve the turnrate and is the Regent really noticable different from the sovereign?

For my Escort i think i take the Armitage. i still Prefer the Andorians but the 5000 compared to Armitages 2500 makes that a bit easier since i can only fly one ship. And since Carrier Pets are no consumables (right?) i will make good use of that. Same goes for the odyssey. I am not quite sure the 5000 are worth it if i can have a Saucer Seperation with the Galaxy or a Dreadnaught for half the price.

Depends on what you want to do. Bug Ship is probably best for the Tac. But since they are pretty pricey, I would say for PVE go with the Tac Kumari for both if you want do STFs/PVE Queues. Takes some getting use to because it is a glass cannon, but a ton of fun. Or if you like cruisers do a aux to battery build with Fire at Will spamming for both. For PVP, I would look at the temporal destroyer.

the andorian 3 pack would give access to all the cool consoles...dont know if equipping all 3 make sense...but running charal does make most sense as it allows for the most eng slots and for boff seating that is optimal

chimera works nicely with tac captains as well.

JHDC is awesome as it has both dual hanger bays and the ability to run DHC's. a plasma build for PvE works great in it. PvP a polaron setup is nice.

tal shiar destroyer is also a sweet boat. sensor analysis plus optimal boff setup, along with solid hull and shields.

I don't think our friend here is going to have access to a Chimera anytime soon.
